Any car lovers?

I fell in love with Mini Coopers when I visited my husband in Switzerland. He worked for SGI in Cortaillod, a small village in the canton of Neuchâtel. Mini Coopers were used as the police cars -- it was love at first sight.

I guess it was almost 10 years after that fateful visit when I saw the first one in the US. I had always been one of "those" cars are for transportation kind of gals but when I saw that first Mini, I knew I HAD to have one.

There are two inanimate objects in my world that make me smile every time I look at them -- my logo (designed from my thoughts and heart by a YT member) and my Mini. Without further ado, here he is......

Beautiful! How fun. I love Mini Coopers. The only problem I would have if I bought one is choosing a color. They look so great in every color.

Lol -- I know what you mean about the color. There are several Mini's in my home town, but my Cooper is the ONLY one of its kind that I have seen. It is so cool having a "one of a kind" car. BUT the downside is that you I have to remember that everyone knows the blue Cooper, even the cops!

LOL every time i see this post i have to smile. Our last name is Ford but hubby will not own a ford car or truck. He absolutely hates them. Says the engines are usu no good.

Ha! I'll have to dig out the picture of our old truck for your husband...it was a '99 F150 4x4 pulling a loaded tree trimming truck and it's chipper up a hill covered with black ice! When my husband got to the top and got out to unhook the tow chain the driver of the tree trimming truck got out, shook his head and said 'I'm going to buy a ford truck when I get off work today.'

We have had all kinds of cars but we always drive Ford trucks

That's funny.......My dad used to work for General Motors, he would never buy one of their products. He always said G.M stood for G.M Junk.....He always bought Fords..... My DH works for Chrysler, we have only purchased Jeeps for the past 20 years. So I guess he likes what he makes.....

I'd give my eye teeth to have that back. Well, not really, it constantly had problems with the fuel pump-I did a lot of walking home from breakdowns. It also caught on fire once when the metal cover over the battery, behind the front seat caused a short.

I have a 1958 Austin Healey 100-6 - my dream car since I was about five years old. I can relate to the mechanical issues... I drove with a fuel pump that was going out for several weeks -- had to keep the battery cover behind the seats open, and bang on the fuel pump (just a few inches from the ground) with a rubber mallet every 30 seconds or so. Needless to say, I have a new fuel pump. I've also had the driver's door latch break from metal fatigue while driving on the freeway and had to hold the door closed the whole way home.

About 20 years ago my dad, who rebuilt Model A Fords as a hobby, bought a 29 sedan for me to drive. I drove it on a few club caravans - that was a blast. And in a lot of parades. It was a lot of work and very tiring to drive, though. Last time I drove it, someone had goofed while working on the electrical system and every time I stepped on the brake, the engine died. Having to be pushed off the parade route while people were yelling "Get a horse!" was the last straw.
