| General Dog Boards? Does anyone ever frequent any general dog boards? Not other yorkie boards, or even other toy dog/ small dog forums but just general dog boards where anyone is technically welcome? Without naming names- I used to be active on a general dog forum a number of years ago (before YT) and boy were those people mean! They were so unwelcoming to people with small dogs. Almost everyone had big dogs or in their terms "real dogs". Mention wee wee pads, dog clothes, a dog bag, holding your dog, a stroller, anything and you were in for it- not just a simple I don't agree with that but rude, nasty, snide comments that would continue into other threads. When I found YT I was shocked- it was so nice to find people who would comment on a picture of my dog in a sweater with an "Awww" and not "How could you dress them?!" or answer someone's question regarding pee pad training with something other than "ewww, you lazy person who doesnt love your dog!" <-- NO JOKE! Okay, End of my rant Haha! So there was kind of a point to this- it was mostly just to say THANKS for being such a great place to share my interests and my dogs. AWWW ((HUGS)) to all

| I belong to two other dog boards. I enjoy them. I've never seen anyone nasty about small dogs and in fact there's quite a few other small dogs. I prefer one forum over the other, sometimes I think some people take things TOO seriously. Then again, I'm not really one to dress my dog for no reason, except holidays and cold weather, I don't really like pee pads, or put my dog in purses, bags and strollers either LOL! I guess I don't fit into YT all that much but I really love this place. I can't exactly pinpoint it, I just have met some nice people, there's so many wonderful people here, and supporters of Jackson & I, and I think I will be a part of this community for as long as it's around. For me, sometimes it's a nice change though to be able to visit with other dog breed owners, and alot of them are involved in agility and other dog sports, and that's not AS popular on this site! So it's sometimes nice to get another perspective on dog ownership.

| I'm a member of quite a few. One is an all dog breed general forum. I never really noticed that except perhaps they would have a debate about clothes or something. Don't really remember. I'll have to look at siggys next time. Come to think of it they are definitely far from friendly to each other in certain sections there. I just found most of the community to be unwelcoming. I go there occasionally, but it's not worth my time or energy. I put that into YT. I am a member of a disease specific animal forum and I'd have to say they are amazing people and I never see arguing either! Their site rules are about respecting others and such. I don't need to go there often, but I really like how the members act toward each other and newbies.

| I belong to a couple of boards where big dogs are the overwhelming majority and I was pleasantly surprised that my "little" guys were welcomed. Instead of being mocked or ignored, I received praise for maintaining my boys' long coats. Everyone correctly assumed that I allow the boys to run and play in the dirt and the muck just like any other dog. Granted, I don't discuss piddle pads or hair products on those boards.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I do belong to another dog board, but it is breed specific. This board how ever is much better, the information is better organized because we have all those different forums. Also because of different categories there is literally something for everyone here. Before I got my Yorkie, I never thought one way or the other about dressing dogs up. Sure a coat and booties for cold weather, that sort of thing. It's not a choice I would make for my dog, but if others want to do it, why not? Some of the clothes I've seen are really quite beautiful, and the Yorkies show just how much time and attention they get. That is what is important to me, the love I see here that our members lavish on their pups. Some of the posters here have amazing videos, some do great trick training with their pups, some do agility etc. I think that is what makes the community so rich, it's diversity. And the passion and the caring, and the support I see in the Sick and Emergency section is truly inspiring.

that has to be one of the best things about YT! On this other board the health care section is dead- people can ask questions about an illness and get no responses, I think it is just because most of the people on the board just don't know much about dog healthcare beyond the basics. I was shocked when I came here and so many members were so knowledgeable about specific diseases!

| The raw food people definitely dominate and do make me feel guilty about using kibble. Overall, the people are nice. Not a very fast moving board, but I do enjoy their debates about training.

| I think those with big dogs that make fun of people dressing up their small dogs are all lying. I get request every day for dresses for large dogs and during the winter and holiday season sell just as many items for large dogs as I do for small dogs. They just won't admit it. Because there isn't as much for large dogs as small dogs, many will use collars to dress up their small dogs..while not clothing is still accessorizing. (coming from a person who dresses up their small dog, large dog, and cat!) |

People on this particular board would always say it was cruel to dress your dog and that they must hate it, were uncomfortable, etc. Yet these same people buy HUGE collars- 3 inches wide, thick leather with all kinds of studs and metal embellishments- those things have to weigh a ton. I would think that would be more uncomfortable than a tshirt or hoodie that my dog doesn't even seem to notice is on. BTW: I tried to dress the cat ONCE- I still have the scars from the incident and it has not been tried again
