Oh My... looks like you southern peeps are in for some NASTY weather! Is anyone experiencing it yet?
Remember, it isn't worth getting out on the roads in a "state of emergency". They are saying there are many accidents because of the ice in some areas.... Be safe Y'ALL! (wouldn't it be fun to just stay home and hang out with the furkids anyway? )

I'm hunkered down and waiting for it to hit. I stocked up on the milk, bread, lunch meat, dog food and TP (something about snow makes us Southerner's need extra TP). The kids are excited because they've already announced the schools are closed tomorrow.

It's supposed to stretch from Louisianna up to the Carolinas. I'm sure places like Green Bay are laughing at us panicking over 6 inches of snow.

LOL.... not at all. I used to live in Michigan and there is a HUGE difference in the states that are prepared for accumulations of snow and the ones who aren't. Also a big difference in the people that are accustomed to driving in it regularly! :rolleyes:

Thanks. I'm in Central Il. and I panic over 6" of snow! I hate snow...well, I shouldn't say that...I hate driving in snow and I hate the cold winds and ice that come with it sometimes...I guess I really don't have anything against snow itself :)

That's true. Atlanta is definitely NOT prepared to handle snow. There are a total of 8 sand trucks in the Metro area. No one here has snow tires or even chains. We seriously go in to shut down when we do get a Winter weather event. Now wind we can handle. In fact, a lot of us are those idiots who are standing outside on our front porch with the video camera as the tornado goes by...LOL.

I grew up in Tornado Alley and my Dad used to stand out in the middle of the street to watch for tornadoes when the sirens went off...my Mom used to get so aggrevated at him!

Ground is covered here in sleet and snow. As a teacher, glad we don't have school tomorrow, but we will have to make it up later :( We still have power as of now though. And will be ready to play in the snow in the morning.

I am with you girl!! I am a teacher also. But you are right, it will have to be made up. But we will enjoy the break tomorrow!! :p

Just consider it a day to PLAY... making it up won't be so bad..... the opportunity to have a SNOW DAY probably don't come along too often! LOL Enjoy!

Will pray you don't lose power...we did 3 days with no power and then a friend brought a generator...everyone around us was out for 7 days...it was bad. I did learn a few tricks to make coffee and cook though :) we used the grill a lot and it had a side burner to boil things...boiled water and ran it through the coffee maker before we got the generator...gotta have my coffee!

According to tonight's news NJ will be hit Tues. night or Wed. with another snow storm. We haven't gotten rid of the 30" we got the day after Christmas. It's only the beginning of Jan. and I'm so sick of this already. Calgon take me away.

We are still waiting for it to hit. They expect it to hit my area around 10pm. We are ready and even have a generator. Bought it years ago when we lived in Florida and had hurricanes to go through. They expect my area to get 5-7 inches of snow and .25 inches of ice on top. We are just not use to it, so planning to just relax at home with the furkins. :D

Wow! Some of you are going to get way more than they expect us to get. Ours usually comes in and goes out pretty quickly. Electricity is always an issue. Don't get me started on that one.

TN has declared emergency level 3. They expect most closer to chattanooga but real close to Knoxville, where I am. They are expecting it to hit in the morning. About 2-3 am. they are expecting dangerous travel in the morning. I do not go to work till 2 pm so I will know by then if I am going in. Thank goodness dh has the day off due to dr appt. If work is not cancelled and it is not too bad, he will drive me in. Work knows I am a chicken in bad weather. I leave at 8pm so by then roads can be icy.

I'm in NJ and I'm told their is an Easterner hitting hard. No one knows how much snow, but I did hear tonight at work maybe 30 inches. Thankfully I"m off from work the next three days. I'll be out early tomorrow food shopping etc. And, maybe maybe maybe I'll be able to find a store with a snow blower left from our last storm. All the shoveling nearly killed me.

I have cabin fever already!! It's only been snowing for 4 hours(3 inches so far!!) Snow is not my bag! Of course we are not prepared. We've got 1/4 gallon milk, 1 roll TP and no CHOCOLATE!!! HELP!!! I can see the headlines now... Ga. woman goes thru Hershey's withdrawl and freaks out.:eek: Later to be found naked and rambling in blizzard!!! What happened to that damn Global Warming?!:mad:

Just started in the Upstate of SC. I'm at work, suppose to be last night of work after a looooooong weekend!! Looks like I'll be back in here tomorrow night :thumbdown. Emergency services never closes :(

Looks like we are going to get hit with about 6" of the white stuff, if we do I'll have to take a video of Speedy playing in the snow. She absolutely loves it!

I'm in northern Alabama. We started about 8:00 tonight and we've already got at least 8''. They are expecting about 12'' by the time it ends. Its been a long, long time since we've seen this much.

Woke up to snow everywhere! It even blew up on both of my porches and on my window screens. It is still snowing at 7am this morning.

that is us in south carolina we have about 6 inches and still snowing have a lot on my porch as well but the girls had a ball running and playing in it

Hope everybody stays safe and warm and enjoys cuddling with their furry babies!
We got several inches in the Dallas area yesterday, after a morning of sleet. School's just delayed two hours, but doggies and I are considering it a snow day. :)
My "new" little 4-month old Zoe tromped through snow up to her CHIN to go to her normal potty spot and potty in the dark and the snow. We were very impressed.
