Lots of snow in North Fulton (15 miles North of Atlanta). It started here around 9:00 pm and it was covering the ground by 10:00. We have around 6" of snow and now it is raining and freezing. Lots of food, beer. chocolate and toilet paper here. Sophie Kate and I are going out sledding at 11:30 and then we are heading to the gym to go swimming (Sophie Kate is not going to the gym). I should add my girl Sophie Kate LOVES snow, she barrels throught and jumps around like a crazy girl. |
[B]It has snowed about 3 inches here. Not snowing right now, but it is suspose to sleet this afternoon. The roads are covered with snow so I am taking a snow day! My son is home from school, but rather me be at work. At least the puppies still love me! /B] |
well it's 10:30 am right now and still snowing and we never see a snow plow truck so we will be stuck here for a while |

We got about 4-5 inches here today. It snowed off and on all day, and is kind of sleeting now. No work or school today and tomorrow. I'm loving the extra time with Levi, but I'm getting cabin fever. I hate being cooped up! |
Were getting ready to have a snow storm. Its supposed to snow 5-8 inches by the time its done. Ive been to the grocery store and I dont have to drive in it but my Husband does so I hope they arent accurate in their forcasting. I will just be vegging in the house with my yorkies and kitties and cooking some good food. My Husband should be done somewhat early tomorrow so he may be done before it gets real bad I hope at least. I hope everyone stays safe and warm |
Another snow day tomorrow...no work/school. Will be ready bright and early to get out the 4 wheeler and be pulled on our redneck sled (conveyor belt) again. We had a blast today. |
Hope everyone fairs thru this okay. Stay warm and cozy. We're bracing for it. We're supposed to start getting snow about 8am or so this morning. I hit the grocery store earlier since I wanted to get some fresh veggies and milk, it was hilarious...the veggies were picked over and the frozen pizzas were almost emptied out. lol Didn't see the tp isle but can only imagine that it was probably ravaged. lol |
As per the local news website: Tonight's low should drop to around 20 with mostly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of precipitation That means to me, I will be calling in at work today. Yesterday, hubby drove me since he was off. I closed my eyes a lot of the way and we did slide a few times. I am a chicken. I have to go over overpasses, hills and around curves (and combinations of the three) to get to work no matter which way I go. Coming home after dark would send me in a panic. I drove home last week after snow and when I got home I threw up due to nerves. :sickie:And I was in 4 wheel drive the whole time. Keep safe everyone. |
well here in my lil town of Liberty SC we did get 9 inches won't see a snow plow truck until the end of the week so we are stuck we have hills for streets and a big one in front of the house so stuck we are     |

Snowing good up in the NW Burbs of Chicago. Already went out one to snow blow, and will be heading out again. Marge's flight to FL was canceled this morning, but I can't entice her to go do the snow. |
This is getting serious! Hubby went out on foot to grocery store 3/4 of mile to get milk and diapers. He wanted to take Mabel as a pack mule!! We're going to starve! Mabel is a puny mule! |
Hi there all! We got our snow today! Only (now remember, this is my "Mchigan blood" talking) about 3 inches... but it is still coming down! Lots of it! There are many schools already closed for tomorrow and I can't wait to get out and play in it! At the moment I have the heat cranked up and it is "bath time" .... I have one more to go. :D |
1 Attachment(s) I am NW of Knoxville and it is sleeting here right now. I LOVE the snow but HATE that this is our last snow day, I am a teacher. That means I can probably kiss the Spring Break Goodbye! :cry8: Where we live, the road is not paved, gets little attention from county road dept. and at the bottom of a steep hill. I am beginning to feel trapped with cabin fever. DH and I are both pacing around the house and the girls are in super hyper mode. :headspin: AND, if I don't quit going to the kitchen I am going to have to wear my lounge pants back to work! my road as of noon: |

1 Attachment(s) I got my dumb backside stuck in the ice yesterday trying to get back home from a friend's house in my neighborhood. I kind of forgot that I had to go back UP the hill I just went down. LOL. In my defense, when I left the house the roads were passable, but they iced over very quickly in the late afternoon. Today, I haven't seen a single person leave their house. The kids missed school again today, and they will be closed again tomorrow. With tomorrow's high only being 25, I very much doubt they'll be there on Thursday either. On a side note, Rhett was not nearly as thrilled with the snow this time as he was on Christmas day. That might have something to do with the fact that he kept sinking all the way down to his belly this time. |

That is a cute pic of Rhett. Cooper loves the snow, the deeper the better for her. Maddie is like Rhett in that she is okay with it as long as it does NOT reach her belly. lol:p |

Ice, Sleet & Snow! I have been away for a few days and am actually just now recuperating from my trip to Jackson, MS and back Sunday. My son had shoulder surgery and needed help moving back into his dorm. After I got everything inside, I helped make his bed and get everything situated for him. In that short time, my car doors froze shut! Had to get tough to get them open. So much sleet & ice everywhere! Son wanted me to get a hotel for the night but I figured it would be worse by morning with all the slushy roads icing over. Going home was tense though! I had icicles growing on my side mirrors, bumpers and the entire car was encased in a sheet of ice. As I drove back I was cheering as the external temp went up, up, and UP! When it got to about 35 degrees the ice started melting off my car, the pretty icicles were falling off too. They were also falling off cars IN FRONT OF ME! Those pretty little icicles turned into not-so-pretty little projectiles as they came flying towards me! Had to get away from the semis as huge pieces of ice were coming off of them. The sleet turned into a downpour of rain the rest of the way. Still, seeing the temps keep going up was encouraging -- closer to home! You wouldn't think there was such a drastic difference in 30 to 40 degrees but there really is. That is a very important range right there! Means the difference in sleet/ice/frozen overpasses (lots of wrecks) to chilly rain and maybe a little hydroplane concern. I could not move yesterday from back spasm! Too long in tensed up position I guess. I am getting too old for this -- sure wish we had an airlines that flew from here to Jackson & back! I am so glad I live in Florida! I don't think I will be going back up there until after Spring thaw! This southern girl has forgotten how to drive in ice & snow and does not want to relearn. :) Saying a prayer for all you hearty northern folks that handle this weather every winter! I just don't have it in me anymore. I remember so many asking why we lived down here after the hurricanes came through -- here is just one of many reasons! :) |
