It still seems kind of dark to me but its not that big of a deal since it's just for the kids to use as a spare. I was able to incease the brightness a little bit. I have something called Intel Graphics Media on this computer.

The "F" keys probably didn't work because it is usually holding "Fn" key down and THEN hitting the F key you want, not "ctrl."

Just thought I'd try to clarify even though it is fixed. Sometimes brightness is controlled by holding down the Fn key and pressing the arrows on the right side. That is how my netbook works. (They have to cheat for the small keyboard space)

Didn't you mean to say that she should have her Primary Care Physician write her a prescription for tea bags rather than glasses?

OMG! I had tea bags on my eyes and the brightness was just fine all along. I'm going to drink my carrot just with a double Swirl Sangria Margarita and head over to the Western Union to make a payment.
