| Have you watched the entire episode? I caught it on Nova, I think, a little while back. There was some really interesting topics discussed through the whole thing. Someone posted about it after it aired...I don't remember who or when though. lol |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Good example, and did you notice how they said something about the wolves didn't make eye contact or look at their hands? The Animal Planet had a great show on hybrids, and the differences between wolves, hybrids, and dogs. The eye contact and watching the hands were the two main differences. There is something about the hybrid that allows him to connect with humans like the dog does. At an early age, the dog is looking to the human for food, and direction. This is what enables, dogs to bond with humans, and visa versa. Now I can't remember if all the hybrids, got this gene, or just some of them did, (I hate getting old), but the ones that got the gene, and were able to make eye contact bonded with humans. They think that this was some type of evolutionary advantage, because those dogs that connected with humans learned how to beg, (look at you with those big soulful eyes) and were given food scraps.

It was me, back in November. The show was called "Dogs Decoded". It was really fascinating. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the episode is available online anymore. There are snippets on youtube and the full version is available for purchase on pbs.org
