I went to a few playoff games with the IceGators, but they flopped a lot in the first few rounds. I even remember one time they were up 3-0 in the series and lost 4 straight. So I never got to see a sports team win a championship in person. I'm sure that must have been an awesome experience.

That is a manly question! Only shotgun I ever remember firing was a single-barrel Browning my Dad owned. Scared the crap out of me! We mostly went deer hunting, and I owned a .270 Remington at one time. Never got a deer and ended up selling it cheap. Now the only gun I have is a .44 Magnum that I bought for bear protection on a long kayak trip. First time I fired it, I missed the target 6 times in a row at 25 yards out. Didn't give my kayaking companions much confidence in my bear killing abilities. Fortunately, haven't had to fire that at a live target either.

I'm a fairweather NHL fan. I'll occasionally watch the playoffs, or I'll watch a game in which an Alaskan is playing. Scottie Gomez plays for the Canadiens, and we have a couple other players in the NHL. Haven't been to an NHL game since the 1970s when I lived in California. The Oakland Seals had a terrible team, but we'd go to see the big-name visitors.

The Aces used to play in the WCHL, and the team was run poorly. They did OK but never dominated and there wasn't much fan base. But new owners took over and really got the fans out. We'll get 3,000-4,000 every game and sell out 6,000-plus during the playoffs.

I was skeptical of the ECHL, but the quality of hockey has won me over. It doesn't hurt that we've won 2 Cups and lost another Game 7 since 2003-2004.

LOVE THAT GUN! killed my first two turkeys with it :D

i kinda like the man thread. (you watch out boys i'm a taxidermist's daughter, avid hunter and fisherwoman and i can tie a mean fly, row a mean canoe, pitch a tent (don't laugh you dirty minded fools), and lots of other outdoorswoman things you men like to do!

i am also a super fan of college football, love BBQ, what else do you need??

Steve, I actually thought of you the other day! And the "man" thread is a great place to share why...I watched my nephew swear into the Marines last week. SO PROUD of him! :) When I was a little girl I used to play Marines and pretend I was one! My father (who died when I was 2 months old) was a Marine and so was my step-father. He was my step-father from when I was 4 years old to 12. I really loved him and looked up to him. Sadly, he left us when I was 12 and I never heard from him again until about a year ago.

What else do I need? I need a woman who doesn't outman me on the man thread! LOL, JK. I appreciate a woman with outdoors skills. Especially one who cooks!

that i can also arrange. i think this is why i'm so stoked to have a son. i'll be a great boy mommy. i don't wimp out on the boy fun but i can also switch back to a soft and sweet mommy who bakes and cooks yummy foods and sews and cleans (sometimes)

but i really do enjoy my outside time. i have a parks and rec degree and meant to be a naturalist for the conservation dept. spent years working in and out of conservation programs and other awesome outdoor things. took a big trip all over the western states on lewis and clark expedition and then the santa fe trail. it was AWESOME! we white water rafted, canoed the upper scenic MO river, climbed lots of big hills and boulder fields, camped most of it. total of 26 days gone on these two trips combined. SOO Fun!!

Gomez was here in NJ 2002/2003 season when the Devils won the Stanley Cup. The Titans are NJ's ECHL team. Haven't been to one of their games but did get to Devils games frequently when my son was playing hockey. He played jr, HS and college hockey and his team got to play Madison Sq. Garden before a Rangers game.
I hope Kelly made out ok with her surgery and you are waiting on her hand and FOOT.

False alarm on the Kelly surgery. It was just a pre-op appointment. Actual surgery isn't until the end of December. Don't know how I got it so mixed up!

I was never a New Jersey fan but I always liked Gomez. You could tell he loved the game and had a lot of talent.

lol.... downloading Trine 2..... the first one was different. Way behind on alot of video games. Really need to focus my efforts on one game instead of playing bits of multiple games.
