| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I heard from Megan a few weeks ago and she is going to be going to a college near me. I will let Megan tell you where she is going to be attending school. We are planning on meeting up.

| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Hi everyone!! I got the nicest visitor message from Sandy and saw that some more people had been posting in this thread. I am so touched that you guys are thinking of me and please know that I love & am thinking of you as well!!! I'll be going to Columbia College Chicago, near Patti (and stewiesmom, who doesn't get on here much anymore, either!). I'm VERY VERY excited and pretty ready to get out of this state! hahaha. all the 'hard stuff' of senior year is done, so now we're mostly just enjoying the ride and finding some "last" thing to cry about every day. ![]() and thank you, also, for asking about my mom. Like I told Sandy, she is doing well. She decided to not have the back surgery, because after doing research she concluded that the risks outweigh the potential helpfulness. so we're taking it a little bit at a time. She's gotten back a lot of strength that she hasn't had for a long time, so that's a great thing. and my parents are going to be moving to an apartment after I move out, so it'll be nice for her. (we've turned the dining room into a bedroom for her, because she hasn't been able to get upstairs to my parents' bedroom for a year and a half. It's totally awful). So hopefully things will keep getting better. You get to a point where you have to stop hoping/praying for it to get better, and just pray/hope that it doesn't get worse (or if it does get worse, that you'll be able to deal with it). We're at that point now, and it actually isn't awful. My brother left a couple weeks ago for Missouri, where he's in Basic Training for the army. We're very proud of him! Are any of you on facebook? If you want to be my friend, PM me and I'll give you my last name! I'd love to keep in touch with everyone, but I mostly get online through my phone and YT isn't a very mobile-friendly site. :/ thank you all SO much for your love and concern. How are YOU doing? Sending love, hugs, prayers, etc., to EVERYONE!!! <3

| Megan, so great to hear from you. I'm so happy that you are able to keep moving forward, and I wish you all the best in college. You have your whole life in front of you now, and I hope it is totally awesome!I know how difficult your mother's situation has been on you, and glad to hear that your family is dealing with it the best they can. We were all so hopeful that there would be a cure or treatment for her, and for now just being grateful that things aren't getting worse sounds ok. I know you are busy, but hope you'll surprise us with a post once in a while. Of course we'll all still be here yacking about our Yorkies, but remembering you too. Aloha, Sandy

| Megan -- GREAT to hear from you! I have missed seeing your posts lately but understand how busy senior year is. College will be even more hectic but lots of fun too! I actually took several classes through Columbia College when I was in Orlando. They had an extension through the Navy base there. That was a long time ago though. Glad to hear things are going ok with your folks. I understand the back surgery questions. I did have surgery on mine but it was not an end to my problems. I had the disk above and below my fusion almost immediately herniate. In fact the surgery I just had on my elbow for ulnar nerve entrapment may actually have been caused by my continued back problems. Weird! Don't want to turn this into my health post so back to your family. Glad to hear your brother went into the Army. I actually think a stint in the Armed Forces is a great idea for almost all young people. I went in the Navy thinking for a short period but wound up staying 22 years! Loved it, not every day, but every year. My oldest son also went Navy -- he's a LT in Va. Beach, VA. I would love to add you to my FB friends. I was a late FB joiner but have loved it for a way to stay in touch. All my relatives are on there and being able to share pics of the kids is great! I'll send you a PM. Hope you keep checking in from time to time -- you have always been my favorite teen YT member, so wise beyond your years!

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Megan, I've missed you so much...and think of you and Teri often. I'm so glad you posted, girly! Congrats on going to college soon, I bet you will love it. Do you have an idea for a major yet (no pressure, geesh! )...?Since you are an Anglophile, like me, maybe you can study British History and then do semesters abroad. And then, and then...I could accompany you as your chaperone . I've got it all figured out.

| Megan, you are going to love Columbia! I took a few classes there when I lived in Chicago and enjoyed everything about the school and being in the city. Best wishes to you and your family.
