I took care of Lars, my sons ball python while he was doing his Jr. year at UC Berkeley in Germany and my other son living at home would buy mice for Lars. On one occasion Lars would not eat the mouse and I felt so bad for that little mouse living in constant fear that I made it another home in a small empty aquarium, but once when I was out shopping, the mouse "mysteriously" disappeared. I thought my son must have given it to Lars, but about a year later while cleaning out the garage, we found that mouse had drilled a hole in the wall and was living inside. We knew it was the missing mouse because it had that white mark on it's head.

Back in the days when I let my cats go outside, I had this cute little 5lb grey striped cat called Patches.

I'm not a big fan of mice, and wouldn't have said I was very scared of them. About once a month or so, when I'd let Patches back in, she'd have a dead mouse. And if you have cats, you know how proud they are of their catch. So I'd dispose of the mouse and life would go on. Well one evening she came in with mouse in mouth, and I got her to drop it, and that poor thing wasn't dead. It started scampering around, I started screaming, I am embarassed to admit I jumped up on a kitchen chair. Shouting for my husband, he came running downstairs, and became the great mouse slayer. Patches was terrified of my screams lol.

Oh, I've got a good one. About 7 years ago, I bought a condo in DC that was in an old renovated building. I had just adopted Vinnie (the older of my two yorkies). I had not had him long, so wasn't too familiar yet with his habits and such. About a month after moving in, I begin to find some of his kibbles in my shoes (at the time I was feeding him dry food, which I would leave in a bowl). I knew he wasn't too fond of the food, and figured he was hiding his kibbles in protest. I also noticed that he was engaging in some really weird behavior at night. We would be sleeping in bed and he would sit straight up and growl, looking towards the living room/kitchen. Sometimes he would go running off the bed and into the kitchen. I would scold him in my sleep, having no idea what he was barking at.

This continued for about 2 months or so. Sometimes I would notice Vinnie just sniffing like mad around the area of the dishwasher. I really thought he was crazy. However, one night I was sitting on my couch with my laptop. It was really late (around midnight) and I was working on something for school. The lights were off and Vinnie was sitting beside me. All of sudden, I look up and see a mouse poke his head out from near the dishwasher. The mouse goes running out of the kitchen and into the living room, right behind my couch. I let out a squeal and Vinnie barely lifts his head up off the couch, almost saying while rolling his eyes, "I told you so!" Soon after, another mouse comes out running from behind the dishwasher, and then another. Yes, three mice came running out from my kitchen. At that point, I stopped looking because I just didn't want to know.

Turns out that the developer who built my condo failed to put up actual walls behind my kitchen cabinets and dishwasher. My unit was right above the boiler room. In addition, the developer had also been allowing workers to throw their lunch trash down an old trash chute that was not being emptied. So the building had quickly become overrun with mice.

Now, I should note that Vinnie never actually caught a mouse while we lived there, but he did become very adept at letting me "know" where they were hiding. Thankfully, we were able to get rid of all the mice (after a series of exterminations and putting up walls where they were needed). And, this being DC, we were just very grateful that we had mice and not rats.

I have a bunch of mice stories but hear is the best one!
I am not afraid of mice AT ALL.... they are cute... but I DO NOT want them in my house trust you me!

I went out with about 20 friends one year on St. Pattys Day. We used to do a bar crawl around Boston. Well one of our stops was Hooters and we ordered some drinks and food and me and this other girl went to use the ladies room. We went into the back hallway where she saw a mouse and FREAKED. She ran into the ladies room but wouldn't you know the mouse followed her through the open door. I went to get the manager and he came back and between him & her they were BOTH standing ON the bathroom counter. Wimps! LOL I grabbed a wad of paper towels and caught the mouse and let it out the door (now I know how stupid that was) and it ran off down the street.
The manager was grateful and brought over about 4 pitchers of free beer for us!!! The guys were all impressed with me, and the girls were pretty disgusted! LOL

Last year, we had a HUGE mouse problem. I don't know WHAT happened. I mean, we live on 3 acres with farmland behind us, but never have we had mice this bad.

One night, I was in bed, and I could HEAR them crawling around my floor. I was sooo freaked out and I basically hid under the covers. Well, I finally peek over my bed and I saw THREE mice quickly run out of my closest and under my bed.... I started wigging out! Jackson was up all night too trying to get them, I'm surprised he never caught one. He's my little hunter for sure.

It was terrible! We finally set a few traps in my closet and in the middle of the night I heard SNAP! and then SNAP! again. Oh my. They finally all went away but I was terrified and slept on the couch a few nights.

Also, one time I heard Jackson barking in the kitchen so I finally go over to investigate. There was a little baby mouse and he looked hurt possibly, or really sick, and surprisingly, Jackson never touched it. But he kept a watchful eye over his small movements, the mouse could barely walk. So I got a little cup or whatever, and waited for him to crawl into it, and then we brought him outside. Jackson guarded over him patiently, like he knew he was sick or something. I put him in some sand/dirt we have outside and the mouse ended up dying.

i have a RAT story now..not cute at all...scary

2 of my girls have puppies right now..and they are in xpens..then teddy and the newest addition bella were in the crate. now gidget my loyal protector has part kangaroo in her so she jumps in and out of her xpen when she wants..well at about 1:30 A M we hear ALL the dogs going crazy, gidget cries out and then more dogs barking..we get up and there is blood from our bedroom door to the living room to the dinning room where she has KILLED a big rat..she has blood all over her mouth..i take her to the bathroom to see if she is bleeding and clean her up..husband stabs the rat to make sure its dead and gets rid of it...she is really wanting hubbys approval..following him around and wagging her tail..but she is still bleeding so apparently he got her so i rushed her to the er and that mean ole nasty rat bit her in several places around her mouth i was so mad!..she got some meds, and another rabies as a booster and she seems fine. but she is more guarded around the house checking the sofas, the closets, etc...i am so thankful for her..i feel like she saved her family..i have 2yr old and a 5 yr old little boys..and that thing must have been in their room the night before because gidget and teddy cried and scratched and barked at their entertainment center for an hour..but nothing. i figured it was that stupid mouse. it makes me cry thinking she risked her self for us...maybe thats silly but thats how i look at it..that she protected us..cause rats will go right to baby cribs and stuff someone told me. im thankful bella wasnt out because it would have killed her little 4lbs of nothing..it was longer then her if you include the tail. and teddy i think he would have done well...he has some pent up aggression from the neighbor it might have done him good to get it out on that rat =)
