Tell the ghost that he's welcome in your home but don't hurt your family. He will leave you alone.

No I have not done any research about deaths in our house but I do know this area was a very large farm. He wasn't back last night so that's a good thing.

I have saw two ghosts in my grandmothers house. She always said that they where my grandfathers parents. When he passed we saw them no more.

I was driving one morning at about 5. I saw an old oldmosobile comming and just turn sharply into a cliff. But nothing was there.

At my dads house if you are a women and alone at night you sometimes can hear old men talk. It sounds like they are playing cards? Or at the bar talking. Now that I think about it my dog Raven was alive and went crazy each time.

The first incident 2-3 people saw them.
The second incident only me
The third incident happend 2-3 times and each time I had a differnet person with me.

So yes I do believe in ghosts and have saw them before.
But as my grandmother says it is the living you have to be scared of.

But I have always heard never welcome a ghost because that opens the door to no so friendly ghosts.

So you guys are totally creeping me out! I ran across this thread at 1 this morning and had to wait til now to read it.

Jody,

I would pack my stuff and move! I don't know if there are ghost, never seen a ghost, never want to see a ghost and hope I never even hear a ghost.

My mother on the other hand has seen and heard both. Still til this day she says she hears people tell her things. But that's a whole other story.

Maybe the lady from Medium and come and find out what it wants or Ghost Whisper can send them to the light.

Call a priest!

BTY I thought garlic was for vampires?

Then hurting himself by falling down or knocking stuff over by mistake! I can still hear my mom...Fred, will you please grow up!!! He drove her crazy...but cracked me up!! I just absolutly ADORED him!
I totally understand your pain and concern that you do not "feel" your Dad. My Daddy died in 1985 and he was my "best friend", my rock, my buddy ... my everything! Don't get me wrong, I loved my Mother too, but Daddy was just everything to me. My sister was one of those "late in life" babies and Mother just focused on her and me being only 6 and the "Apple of Daddy's eye", she didn't have a lot of time for me. Anytime I needed advice, life direction, etc., I would always talk to Daddy and ask him what he would do in the same situation. He always gave me great advice, but always ended the conversation with ... "Honey, this is what I would do and whatever your decision, I am behind you 100%!" And he always was, even when I didn't follow his advice and fell flat on my face! LOL I also took care of my Mother [I promised Daddy I would and that she would never have to leave her home] and provided her live-in nursing when she couldn't care for herself anymore and my hubby and my job kept us from living near her. I regularly flew home to spend time with her the last 8 years of her life. She died in 2006, just 10 days after her 90th birthday! We became very close and I know she loved and trusted me. The late life baby, my sister, lived withing walking distance of her and the last few years rarely visted her ... it broke Mother's heart. I pleaded with my sister to spend time with Mother and she just didn't have time ... now she is so guilt-ridden, it's really sad ... I can't even talk to her anymore.

Sorry I rambled and got "off subject" ... just want you to know, after all these years I can still feel my Daddy checking on me at night to make sure I am tucked in, comfy and safe [he also covers Patrick up ... scared the be-Jesus out of him the first time it happened!! LOL I just tell him that Daddy would have loved him because he spoils me just as he did! ]. I still hear Daddy's voice sometimes and it's so comforting and not scarry at all. I believe that you will sense him nearby and will feel peace and in time you will hear him. I believe that they are always near us. Do you ever think you see something, like out of the corner of your eye? I do and it seems like a happy little "spirit" ... do you know what I mean? I believe that's my Daddy!!

Garlic is for vampires...but if they are like Edward they can just go ahead and bite me.

As for your ghost....I am sure he is quite harmless! Maybe he is just watching over you??

Easy for me to say....I have not seen one in my house. I would probably be totally freaking out.

I am sitting alone in a dark room with only the TV on, while reading these posts! All of a sudden my TV turned off!!!!!!!!! It never does this!! Now I'M as white as a ghost!!! Then, Betty Boop ran into the room and jumped in my lap!! REALLY!! Scared me to death!! I had to turn on the overhead light!

About 20 years ago, my husband and I lived in his deceased grandfather's home for about a year. This house was OLD, but well kept. One night, we heard something creaking in a back bedroom. We looked down the hallway and saw my bentwood rocker ROCKING!!! by ITSELF!!! We found out that one of the deceased grandfather's wives died in that room!

OK....I have to stop now. I'm getting spoofed!

CREEEPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

My last house had a ghost in it, but she never tried to involve herself in our lives in any way. Since the day we moved in, it never felt like "home" - always a weird quality to it, and it always felt like it was someone else's house. I wrote it off to just being bitter about having had to move (we lost the house I was raised in when my mom had to leave her job on disability). A few months after we lived there, I was in my room at night and got out of bed to do something, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a white beautiful dress leaving my room. I FLIPPED out hahaha.

My dad also told me that on several occasions he heard a pounding on the front door in the middle of the night. I never did any kind of investigation while we lived there because I was terrified of what I'd find. after we moved out, I talked to an old man (probably around 80) who had lived in the neighborhood his whole life. He told me that back in the 50s a woman was murdered by her husband in the foyer. It made SO MUCH SENSE because it explained the pounding on the door and why I only felt the presence on that side of the house. but it scared the CRAP out of me and I can't even drive past the house without an eerie feeling.

We now live in a 1920 farmhouse and I was very concerned about there being spirits here, but I've never felt anything. It's very much our home.

You should leave a recorder out overnight to see if you pick up any voices/sounds!! Or a video camera.

That is crazy Megan! It's like something out of a movie~finding out that a murder took place in your home! Yicks!!! I don't think this is anything at all like that but I do think it might have something to do with all of the construction that has been going on in the area the past few months. They have really disrupted the land and like I said it was all farm land. Now they are putting a 4 lane road in and are digging really deep into the ground and moving the earth. It might have bothered this old soul.

I think someone else asked if the dogs see anything and I have to say they do not. Even when I saw the ghost standing in the door they didn't say a word.

hmm. Since George is still very much alive, he might object just a little to being relegated to the spirit world before he is ready...

I'd be a bit leery about inviting a ghost to stay. Better to say nothing to it all. An invitation could be a dangerous thing. No telling what doors you are opening. I don't know if 'ghosts' are actually the spirits of the deceased or mischievous spirits taking on a guise of the once living for good or evil. I believe there is something. But one shouldn't take unnecessary chances by playing games with them. I've lived in couple of old places that had 'issues'. I am lucky now to live in a house that although it was built in 1920 has only had three families since construction, including ours.. so, pretty innocuous atmosphere.

ive had several things happen in the house i grew up in which has quieted down, so to speak, since us kids moved out
a few things in my own home
i think my son is sensitive..he started Kindergarten this week and went to the the play area for recess and he told me he made a friend there that died when it was just a park not a school and that he had hurt his legs and got a "poison" in his legs and died..then i was like well whats his name..and my son says...mmm..nevermind he is imaginary so i want to find out more about the schools property now..lol

he also spoke about a guy by name last year..told us how he passed..what his hobbies were, what car and color he drove, where he lived and turns out..he was my husbands brothers best friend and everything matched even down to his kids..spooked the crap out of me! we never talked about this guy at all..
