| Haha. That's so funny. Once I had a hamster and I guess she was pregnant when I bought her. When I woke up one day, she had given birth and eaten them. I suggest separating them. but anyway, Congrats! LOL.!!!!!!

That's awesome, I highly recommend not touching them or moving them, this will cause the mom to eat them. She may eat a few anyway either because they are too weak or too small or maybe just sicklings. either way do not touch them. (sorry I'm a pet care specialist for PetsMart, and know from experience. but please keep in mind I do not know everything . I've been in the department for two years. and have been a lover of small rodents even longer and owner for longer) Time and space is what they will need. when you clean their cage. I recommend scooping them up from behind with a soft wash cloth. and recommend using Aspen bedding or Carefresh. this way they are not lying on a bunch of smelly oils (as their respatory systems are very small and fragile.) best of luck. if you have any questions I will try to answer them to the best of my knowledge. But also I'm sure everyone else has great advise on here as everyone is great and has taught me a lot. congrats on the new ones | |

| LOL we have been through the same thing. And our hamster had so many babies! My sons thought it was the most wonderful in the world. Enjoy Our little mommy got stressed about something I did and she pouched all of her babies I thought she ate them all and was so completely grossed out, but after a few minutes she spit them all out and only 2 died from suffocation. We completely left her alone and in a very quiet roomm after that. Last edited by chloeandj; 10-27-2005 at 07:53 PM. |
