| Heartache. . . Ehhh, My heart is hurting right now. So I have these blister breakout things all over my hands and feet (which isn't surprising because I've had it before, as eczema runs in my family and the breakouts are usually caused by that) but this time the breakouts are ridiculous! Its ALL over my hands and feet and some of them hurt really bad at times. My mother called my dermatologist and my allergist, both of them said pet hair could/can cause a breakout or make a breakout worst. ;_________; We are going to the dermatologist on monday morning and we are going to try and schedule an appointment with the allergist sometime next week. If Cody is the cause/making it worst my mother says we have to rehome him. I probably cried two times since she told me that an hour ago. I sure hope this isn't because of him. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Aw...I am so sorry. I definitely understand skin issues. My husband has psoriasis, and it is BAD. It is all over his body and nothing can be done. He can't sleep, he ruins shirts because he rips open and bleeds all over. It is heartbreaking and nothing can be done. Nothing cures it and in his case it is so bad that nothing has worked. So, I understand. I really hope your fur baby is not the problem. |

| Have you ever found any cream to give you relief from eczema? I too have had it for years, but have finally found something that works, and can even still be around the allergen if I keep it minimal. I bet there are ways to fix this.

| I have been through a MILLION creams. Name one and I bet we have had it. The lastest treatment is Prednisone (which of course always works, but can only be done 2 or 3 times year, and we have already done it 3) and now I'm doing triamcinolone acetonide ointment. It only helped with a breakout on my arms cause by a nickel allergic reation but nothing for my hands. I'm also on Atarax. |

I've also been told that this type of reaction can be caused my heat. Lets hope its that and not Cody. Thanks so much everyone! | |

| So sorry you are going through this. I've been on the same meds, and what works for one may or may not work for another. I really think it would be unusual for hair to cause a breakout. It may make it worse, but I doubt very much that Cody is the root to your problem.

| Our Sunday paper carries a small article that is written by a Dr. and last Sunday the subject was exzema. A person wrote in and said their friend had it so bad it hurt to look at it so they told them to try cod liver oil...I think it said 1 TBSP. a day. The next time they saw their friend the exzema was gone...the cod liver oil fixed it from the inside out instead of trying to fix it from the surface. The Dr. agreed with using the cod liver oil. I don't have exzema but I might give it a try just to see how it does for my skin overall instead of using lotion. Oh, my Mom says it isn't as bad as it used to be...you can buy it flavored now Last edited by my2boyz; 07-22-2010 at 04:56 PM. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope you don't have to give your baby up. My dt has bad eczema and steroid cremes help some but not completely. My husband has bad Psorasis where he bleeds all the time but I don't think the dog hair affects either of them. Hope you can clear up the skin issues.
