yes, the rice trick does work, it draws out the moister, and the ziploc is probably a better bet, cause you have a closed in environment. I would leave it in their for a few days, then power it on |
I've heard that you should remove the battery first and then put it in a zip lock bag with rice. Good luck, hope it works for you!!! |
Ive heard several people tried the rice trick and it worked. I accidently washed my iphone in the washing machine and I didnt know about the rice trick at that time. It was a bad day so I know how you feel! |
My phone does not have a SIM card but I did remove the SD card and battery and placed them in the bowl of rice. I didn't cover the bowl, I was thinking the moisture needed to evaporate and not sweat. I hope it still works. I am so happy to see this trick has worked for so many of you. :) :) :) |
My nephew did the same thing with his DS game and the rice trick worked! I hope it will work for you. |
I hope this works!! My mom just went swimming with her brand new iPhone 4g and had to have it replaced. Good luck! |

If I go that route I will just have them meet me at a Sprint store. |
:yay_jump: <----- this was me at 6 a.m. this morning. The rice worked! I have my phone back!! YAY! So, if your phone ever decides to go for a swim. Immediatly take the battery out, DO NOT push any buttons, and put them both in a bowl and cover with rice. Wait at least 2 days, pray, pray, and pray some more. Then put it all back together, read all your missed texts, and call someone to celebrate being back in the cell phone world.:) |
Glad to hear your phone is back |

Oh YAY!!!!!!1 Glad to know that it works, and I'll remember this trick just in case;) |
I came in to say I'd read about the rice trick before but never used it myself. I'm so glad it worked for you! :D I think the key is NOT touching it at all for at least 48 hours. |
My daughter did that with hers. I wrapped each part up in tin foil and put it in the freezer for a hour and it came back on. I used to work at a cell phone place and it was different tricks we would try. Even puting it in the dryer. Depends on how bad the phone is already. The rice bag never seemed to work. |
