| Graphing Calculators Does anybody here know a thing about them? I'm looking for one that is of some quality, but I don't want to spend $150 either. What is the lowest I could go and still get a good one? TI-83? TI-84? Something altogether different? It would be used for algebra, trig, and possibly calculus 1. Thank you

| I can't even tell you how many of these calculators that I have bought for my kids. One was stolen, one lost, one broke..........but the other day I was looking on Ebay and they had them relatively cheap for a graphing calculator~around $60. There was even one guy that was selling them from his store that were used at teaching conventions only one day. I wish I would have saved the site. I'm not even sure of the models that I have purchased in the past but I do know that some can be upgraded with new software. My daughter's teacher last year would have the kids upgrade as needed. OK~I'm sorry now I'm just babbling

| I have two around here somewhere...one has my name on it lol...but they still work. I think one is an 83 and one is higher...can't remember. If I can find one I will send it to you. Probably needs batteries but otherwise they are in good condition.

| I am a math teacher and we use the TI 73. It is a little cheaper than the TI 84 but since you are going to end up going into cal I, I think I would recommend the TI 84. Any of the TI calculators are expensive. You will be looking at about $150 unless you find a used one. You might check ebay or a similar site. Let me know if I can help in anyway. |

| Ok I found the TI 83...let me know if you want it. It still works, the batteries are low in it and it has my name carved into the nameplate on the back lol...but otherwise it's in good working condition. I would be glad to send it to you, I don't use it anymore and there's no point in letting it collect dust if somebody else can benefit.

| Here it is...I think it's a late 90s model...don't know if they still make them this "style" or not but it's a TI 83.

| Thanks again. I'm getting a new toy! Anything to motivate me to do math is good.

| i would get whichever one the teacher will be using in class. unless the teacher will demonstrate how to use all the different models. it will make life a lot easier for you.
