| Crazy story! This is so weird! This evening I took the dogs outside and there was a flock of blackbirds in our evergreen trees in the back part of the yard. I love birds, but blackbirds drive me crazy with the obnoxious racket they make. I have these things called snappers...you throw them on the ground and they pop, and I've been using them to scare black birds away. So, I took a couple handfuls of the snappers and headed back under the evergreen trees. I threw a handful on a large rock, and then another handful. I then heard a noise in the tree and turned to look, and saw a blackbird fall to the ground...just a few feet from me! It was dead! I got freaked out and thought there must be someone shooting at the birds, but saw or heard no one around. I ran in the house and got my hubby. He put the bird in a trash bag and there was no sign of blood on the bird, so he hadn't been shot. My hubby says, "You must have given it a heart attack!" Is that crazy or what! Thank goodness that bird didn't fall on me!

| It is not uncommon for a bird to die from loud noises. |

Connie, good job! I hate big birds that make me uneasy about having Toto in the yard. If you have any tips on how to give a heart attack to giant hawks, please share with me? There are two that I see sitting in a neighbor's big tree occastionally just watching for some poor little creature to swoop down on. Thanks for sharing this ... what a visual I have in my head!!

| Wow, what a story. Goodness gracious. Totally off topic, but I believe it is your birthday today, so happy birthday. Maybe you can throw some more of those snappers in celebration.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would have freaked out. Birds scare me. Probably had a heart attack from eating all the junk food I see birds eating these days. The seagull's by me hang out in the McDonald's parking lots and people feed them fries! lol
