Many people do not understand that people disagreeing is NOT a violation of rules. It is when certain people get angry and go off the deep end and attack people that they get suspended or banned.
Many times we don't even SEE the offense because it gets removed.

Yeah...I cannot believe how many people actually do that. The only time I have argued is in direct email or PM to the umpire stating my case. I still must live with his calls.

I have seen some really great members get suspended...happens to a lot of people.

This suspension thing confuses me, this lady dwerten gets suspended, so I try and find out about her, here I couldn't find an ugly or mean spirited post by her, that could possibly have suspended her, yet I go back and see how certain people that are frequent here, actually slam the daylights out of others, just because of a misunderstanding of words. I know people get worked up at times, and they are human, but if one is to be suspended I would think the others should follow, that would only be fair. I thought this whole yorkie talk forum was for the dogs, not some bar room brawl... If these people are so ugly to people that are trying to help others, how do they treat their own families behind closed doors. Poor families, geeze..

Would we see missing numbered posts....Lets say if post #14 was deleted would we see #13 and then #15 with the #14 missing if it was deleted.....:confused:

And yes, good point Nancy brought up - that there is often more to the story than what might be seen in a "heated" thread, or whatnot. Also, history is taken into consideration. Every situation and individual is different, so we try to look at it that way as well.

Members might not always agree with decisions, and that's okay :). We can't satisfy 63,000+ members all the time, nor do what's "appropriate" for all members, at the same time. We just try to do what's fair, and ask that all members be tolerant and accepting of each other's differences.

Here is dictionary.com's definition of appropriate, btw...which is about as clear as mud :p: suitable or fitting for a particular purpose, person, occasion

I don't think there is a way to tell. Never paid a whole lot of attention to that, though.

Sometimes you will see the deleted post, and other times the whole thing post disappears, it just depends on how the mod or admin edits it. If you subscribe to threads, the posts often go to your email, before they are deleted.

if you are referring to what i think you are referring to, that person got banned because they posted for someone else who was already banned. That is against the rules.

if that's not what you were talking about then disregard my post.

It's not pretty when you are on the receiving end of repeated and vicious attacks. Most times they are deleted before anyone even sees what has been posted or said. :(

Reposted what was deleted by a banned member. As for the email notifications that is how I knew what was said about me even though it was long gone.

Yep. Almost always, we just "delete" posts. The only time we actually will physically remove a post is when a post is spam, a duplicate post, or when a post could be hurtful to a member whose pet has died. (am I forgetting anything? :p) (oh! yes I am...pure human error...but still, we look at a thread's history and always see if a post was deleted vs. physically removed)

The only time we delete an actual thread is when it is spam, or against the rules, or for example, a For Sale thread isn't completed correctly (which also, technically is against the rules).

There is one glitch that a few members have brought to our attention and I will try to describe, although it's difficult. See where I deleted my own post above (yes, I know people would love to see that more often) as the example? And you can "see" it? And usually, when Admin (or any other Mod) deletes a post, you can also see "deleted post" there as well.

However, there is some glitch that happens sometimes - and it's odd. Sometimes when Admin deletes a post (just deletes, not physically removes), the members can't see "deleted post", but we don't know why - bc it's still physically right there and visible (the mods/admin can still see it, it looks like how a normal "deleted post" should look). But, we've had members say "no it's not there, it's gone" - even when we can see it right there.

So, in sum, members should always be able see when Admin "deletes" a post, however, there is a glitch where sometimes it appears *as if* it's disappeared, but it hasn't. We don't know why that happens at times, with Admin. But members are welcome to ask "did that post go poof, or what?", and we'll try to answer. We have nothing to hide in terms of post/threads etcetera. :)

One of YT's rules is that we don't discuss reasons for a member's suspension, or discuss the suspension itself at length.

A "suspended member" means that member is coming back to YT, and is welcome to do so at the end of that suspension. I can think of several reasons for not discussing a member who is not here to defend themselves....for one, I don't think they'd appreciate coming back to YT and seeing that their suspension was discussed.

And some send people around to discuss it. :D;):p:rolleyes: Takes all kinds to make up this world of ours.
