With 63,000+ members, the bottom line is - we will never be able to satisfy the many different versions of "appropriate", so that's not the goal.

And yup, we are all guests here, including me - and I think Admin does a heck of a job trying to make this forum open to all different types of people. There are rules and limits, of course, but we can't expect Admin to change something whenever a member experiences intolerance.

I guess we have to learn to tolerate certain things, ignore certain things, or decide if this forum fits...or if maybe just certain sections fit. Every one of us probably wishes something was a bit different here...that doesn't mean it needs to changed.

A solution we can offer if someone has children coming here (or the member themselves are uncomfortable w/ a certain section) -- is that we can disable access to individual sections. If the Off Topic forum is deemed inappropriate by you for your child - then let us know, and we can disable access to it.

This is a community, and we welcome opinions...but we all have to accept the fact that each of us has to serve up a big dose of tolerance in a community where there are 63,000+ members. :)

And that was the funny part. That show was being cancelled until she made such a tadoo about it, and then it became quite popular. I had never even seen that show until then.

And as for the sex thread and the pics, you don't have to look at them!! I just don't get it. I didn't read the sex thread because frankly I wasn't interested and I didn't click on the hog picture because I find the killing of animals objectionable, but I do not have the right to tell others they must agree with me and share my views! This is a public forum and we are in America and if you don't like it, simply don't look at it. Don't hide behind it might offend some children. Please, it offends you.

I didn't find it offensive at all but humorous. All I was trying to do is point out that there are plenty of people beside the ones that are being accused of being inappropriate that make innuendos and have talked about sex. We are all adults and just having a little fun. :D

First of all, I am not hiding behind anything. You have all missed the very reason for this thread to begin with. Yes, if was offensive to me, but this is a public forum and what is written here is open to the public, including small children. If this does not bother you, so be it. Obviously talking about your sex life, or lack there of, is more important than an impressionable child.
Not once did I say or state that you must share my views. I only asked that you be more respectful of the fact that you are sharing this forum with others. I did not ask you to stop your postings, only find a more responsible area for them.

And there are numerous posts by you in that thread making sly remarks about "this person" and how she was in the wrong, not knowing someone was having a bad day, yada yada. I would be happy to quote some of the posts here, if anyone would like to read what i am talking about. It is obvious who likes who and who doesn't like who, which is really not the point here at all. But you can sure figure it out when reading those posts, lol

I lost my brother, watched him die of cancer on a certain day years ago, and watched my mother die of cancer on a certain day years ago, not to mention others in my life, does that mean I expect all of you on the internet to know I am having a bad day because of the sadness it brings me each year on that day? NO I do not. I fully respect and have empathy for all who have lost children, siblings, parents, etc. I truly know just how hard it is.

MaryKay, I totally agree. Janie has the biggest heart of anyone that I know. Very rarely does a negative thing ever come out of her mouth. She is compassionate and cares deeply. I am sorry that shodan is/was having a bad day but Janie is fighting for her life every single day. She is in pain and has been told that she will have to be on chemo for the rest of her life. I would say that she is having LOTS of bad days. I agree that YT should be a place where people can come to learn about yorkies AND have fun but come on people some of these threads have crossed the line.

Let me start by saying that 1) I have not been offended by anything ever posted here 2) I have no personal issues with any involved party, although I suspect some may have one with me, and 3) I feel very left out not being an active part of the turmoil....for once.

Who are we really trying to kid here about what's going on? I've never been one to beat around the bush (that's what she said!). Some members clearly have a personal vendetta against Steve, and in return, he seems to have one against some people, either as a result of something they've said or disagreed with, or for something else altogether. (Don't know, don't care.) It's built up, there has been button pushing on both sides and now people are either lashing out, digging up dirt (which there always seems to be plenty of), getting their feelings hurt, being ganged up on, or leaving altogether. Nor is this simply about someone being offended over hunting pics. It's his whole attitude and the manner he posts in--and here's the thing, some love him and his attitude, some hate him for it. (And I'm sure that Admin's box is running over.....poor Ann.)

None of us are stupid or blind to the heated atmosphere that has been on YT lately. Why try to act like it's something else? Furthermore, I don't care who said what first. It's all a bit silly, really IMO. I just hate seeing some of the people leave who have left over this mess, and some of those who will likely leave if it continues.

Whether one is a vegetarian, meat lover, hunter, fisher or the president of PETA, none of it matters. We all have different beliefs and opinions. So, who cares if Steve likes to kill hogs. I love to fish, yep, I drown minnows. So what? It is my choice and right to do that. Just as it is yours to do what you like to do.

Yes, there are personal relationships, with some people liking others above others. A lot of PMs flying around, with plotting and planning how to get certain banned, it's very evident, since those intentions have been made out in the open.

It doesn't matter how long one has been a member on YT. Totally not a reason for respect or have more friends.

However, I guess a few people missed what Anne posted or feel the post doesn't encompass them. I think it was meant for all of us. Be tolerant, get over it and move on.
And as Anne said there's enough subject matter on YT to find our glitch. And if one finds posts distasteful, move on. Or if YT is not for you, move on.

As stated on the original thread, Member A didn't do anything wrong (nor was there any bad intent) in posting what was posted. Member B did not do anything wrong in stating her opinion that a picture bothered her, that is her prerogative. There is nothing wrong with the way a picture can make someone feel.

They both deserve our respect and tolerance, not debate on who may have been more right or wrong...really, is there a conclusion there, other than more divisiveness?

There is this side to the story, there is that side to the story, and then there is the truth. And I can really only tell you 2 out of those 3, definitively.

We have to move on. Many members care about both of these members, and there is no solution that will make everyone satisfied here. Please try to accept both of these members of the YT community, even if they are different from you. :)
