Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Being Cautious and Careful= PLEASE READ Our neighbor went to get some wood couple weeks ago, he was telling us he reached onto his wood pile and pulled one log then reached again and lo and behold noticed at his elbow rattles and looked down to see he had his hand wrapped around the body of a rattle snake,as he drew his hand away the snake started rattling. ( he later counted the rattles NINE OF THEM ) Thank God he was so blessed not to get bit by it. These folks have lived here in the country as long as we have, it just goes to remind us to be very CAUTIOUS AND CAREFUL at all times, especially around a wood pile and also any area where snakes abound, and then also where they don't. Country living is wide open territory for them, I am constantly watching the ground when I am outside. Many years back our Dobie got bit by a rattler in our yard, traumatic experience, we was so very fortunate that she lived and was okay. I just wanted to remind everyone to be real careful when out and about always and especially this time of the year when the snakes are just coming out from hibernating. With all the rains we've had I imagine we will be seeing more of them around. Please be extra careful with your furbabies if you live in an area of snakes. Hugs, Patti and Jack and Girls. | Wow, how scary. We live on and farm 160+ acres and I am terrified of snakes. We are lucky I have only seen a few near the house in 30+ years. I will warn DH as he is always in wood, hay fields etc. Thanks for the warning.

| Oh my goodness, what a scary experience! I'm glad your neighbor escaped unharmed. Wood piles are very attractive havens for snakes. I run into snakes in the yard every once in awhile, but so far they have been the relatively harmless, non poisonous variety. One was a big black snake and I nearly picked it up thinking it was a fallen tree branch in my wooded area. Excellent safety reminder for people when they let their doggies roam in the yard. |

| I'm always afraid of my babies coming across a snake in my backyard. There was one ther this weekend. I just scream and run. My husband shooed it away.
