3 Days! keep going you're past the worst now and you wont want to break your own record, keep a water bottle on hand for sipping it helps, I gave up 3 years ago and swear to never smoke again, I'm just trying to get hubby to stop now (without nagging) Our tobacco has gone up in price he now pays $25.00 for a 30gram packor $15.00 for packet of 20, whats your prices like over there? Imagine the treats you'll be able to buy your baby with that saving.

You can do it and congrats on the three days! I believe the chemical part will soon be out of your system, which is great news.

to hear all you stories gives me hope, thank you and well done to u all xxx the cig over here are £6.oo a pack of 20 cigs , and there is some that cost even more, they will be goin up again.

I wish you lots of luck!! I have went from two packs a day to two cigs a day and no inhaling!! I took chantix for a month and a half. I would love to get one of those electric cigs. I'm gonna search that right now. The chantix made me so sick!!

How's the quitting going?
It's been almost 3 and 1/2 years for me.
everytime you get that hunger feeling have a glass of water it will pass. I quit cold turkey as I've done a million times before, but after 26 years of smoking that time it stuck. I hate the smell and can't stand the taste anymore, strange because I'd have one in my mouth every chance I got.

Hang in there-you CAN do it!!!
I smoked for almost 30 years(started senior yr of high school in 1977) and quit December of '06. I was facing mitral valve surgery in Jan. so I knew it had to stop. I just put them down. My only mind trick that worked for me was to wait--just wait a couple minutes before lighting up. The urge would pass and so on and on , until here I am almost 4 years later and have no more urge to smoke!

I know this is an old thread but Im quiting starting tomorrow. I have patches and chantix. One of our quit smoking groups is having a contest and you can win up to $2000 for quiting. I called them and they are the ones that sent me the patches and I had the chantix from unsuccessfully trying before

Congrats on quitting - I quit 5 years ago. I never thought i woul do it let alone reach this milestone. I did it cold turkey.

I read the book "The easy way to quit smoking" by Allen Carr. Was amazing, no weight gain, no cravings and no bad mood. I didn't smoke for 6 months but then life became very stressful and although I know that cigarettes don't help I started again...

Anyway, I will try again and hopefully hubby will quit this time too.

I quit. Cold turkey years ago. Granted, I still have the occasional puff with a glass of wine or when I'm really stressed or upset--maybe 4 or 5 a year. It really sucked for about a week, but sooooo glad I did it.

hi everyone, yes i am still off them, its been 8 weeks now, which is totally amazing for me, but i do still get cravings and i have put on a stone in weight

which is the worst thing for me,congrats to all that succeeded and good luck to the ones that are thinkin about it xxxxx if i did not have the e cig i know for a fact i cud not do it, the only thing is i smoke it like a cig, and it startin to cost me lol,,, still cheaper
