Well it's official, I am now one of "those women". I went to my OBGYN on monday and experiencing many symptoms. Prickly feeling a couple of times a day, dryness and other things I cant mention, but we all know what I am talking about. :D My cycle is gone, been gone for over a year. Now what? Whats next? My doctor told me my ovaries are no longer producing eggs so guess I cant add to the population.:D To me, this is just another stage of life. It sucks that men cant experience our joy's :D |

I have to be honest...I read this thread because at the time the title said it was about Menopause and Steve had posted? I was a little concerned/curious...LOL! I hate the hot flashes the most. Does anyone take anything for them that works? I can totally relate monolos mom. Men should also have to experience childbirth. Whats fair is fair...right? |
You knew I was going to post something here! LOL |

One thing for sure, they gossip more than the women...:p |
Hilarious. I had only mild physical symptoms but outrageous mood swings for a short time, and it ended suddenly when I had an emergency partial spay procedure. Can't take HRT - drugs or estrogen loaded plant foods like soy or Mexican yams because I had thyroid cancer 15 years ago. Only symptoms I have are "bearded lady" syndrome and the tendency to look for my "misplaced" phone whilst talking on it. I have to say it was kinda nice to have people walking on eggshells around my usually mild self when I was in the ugly mood swing phase. At one point my doctor told me I had to stop drinking Coke and when I asked if he would visit me in jail -- because it was either the caffeine-sugar sedative (yes- caffeine had a calming effect on me) or commit murder, he agreed that maybe it wasn't the right time to give it up. (I have since given it up grudgingly.) |

My mom has no idea when she went through menopause because she had a hysterectomy at age 40. Hey, if Im not having kids and I get this menopause thing done with early in life, I'll really enjoy my 40s and 50s and on! LOL |

Those are all signs of underactive thyroid symptoms too...I was 39 and having all the symptoms of menopause...I went to my OBGYN talked to her about my symptoms...she said I could be starting menopause early but she didn't think so because of my age at the time and wanted to check my thyroid first...they did some blood work on me and found out my thyroid was not working...I now take synthroid daily all my symptoms stopped for a few years :D..I'm now 46 all the symptoms are back  and this time its the good, bad and ugly menopause  your awfully young to be starting menopause yet...but it can happen...but you might wanna have your thyroid check as well :) |
OK , I need advice, I went to OBGYN for annual visit. I took him bloodwork results from my medical doctor. I am officially in Menopause. I have most of the symptoms and he asked me was I to the point of wanting to hurt somebody, I said Yes! He said I need hormones. He talked to me a while and told me the side effects and statistics. He said some women love them and others say they don't help them. Could you please give me your thoughts and experience if you take them. He prescribed Prempro. |
After a hysterectomy i did not take hormones for many years. They think one of the reasons I have osteoporosis is because of this. My bone density if very bad. Because I was having hot flashes, I was put on estradiol and I no longer have the hot flashes. They were bad and I am so thankful I no longer have them. I would recommend taking hormones. Of course this is just my opinion. |
