One thing is for sure...Shape-Ups are pretty cheap compared to most of the others in that link.

| I got a pair of the reebok shoes and if your a clutz like me with balance issues or if you have bad or weak ankles avoid these. I went with them b/c they looked more like a normal shoe, I refuse to wear ugly shoes that cost an arm and a leg no matter what they say they can do for my body. .... but I thought ok these look simi normal. I wore them a total of 3 times and every time i had some type of balance bang into a wall table or trip issue. I would say for those of you who are athletic or have some kind of sports skill should be ok. I passed them on to a friend of mine who coaches dance teams and she loves them. But then again she can tumble at age 35 too... |

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Was delighted to hear about this thread. Since I was in the need of new walking shoes (the brand I was use to wearing and loved is no longer available) after reading this thread I decided to check out the Sketcher Shape Up Shoe. At first I did not like the feel and felt unstable after trying it on in the store, I quickly decided instead of walking about in the store with them on to first read the booklet that comes with the shoes, great that I did, it explained much of what the sales person didn't know. I will add the first pair with the right shoe was tooooo tight and uncomfortable, he brought out another pair, it really pays to try on a pair before purchasing..... tadaaaa...... after a few minutes walking within the store I purchased a pair. I purchased the Metabolize style, it was more comfortable for me than the other style Optimize. I am very cautious not to let myself roll back on the heels as I do not feel secure and am fearful of falling so am going to remain cautious when I wear them. I really like the feel of being able to walk without the feeling of my back and body being jarred with each step I take, more soft cushion comfort in walking in these. Beings that I have a bad back to begin with, then after lifting Jack's wheelchair in and out of the vehicle when we're out and about, moving him about in his wheelchair, I am hoping my back will benefit from these shoes. I will say again, that I am very cautious when wearing them not to roll back onto the heels as they then give me a feeling of being unstable. The booklet put emphasis on finding the center of balance a must in wearing them. I did find the booklet to be my source of making my decision to purchase them. Glad I did. There was a DVD with my pair on excercising, I watched it but since I don't need the excercise didn't really find it helpful for my own use. I just needed a really good walking shoe and think this will work for me. They are expensive but if they prove to be beneficial for me, they will be money well spent Thank you so much for posting this thread and am grateful someone told me about it. To all you Mom's out there, hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. Hugs, Patti and Jack and Girls. |

| I have the Avis brand and like them, but I think I would have rather paid the extra money for the sketchers ones. I think they would work better...they seem to have more of an "arch" to them. fyi..if you have a kohl's card, they carry the Shape Ups for $99. If you watch your mail, you should be getting a monthly coupon that has anywhere from 15-30% off your entire purchase, which could really help curb the price a bit!!

| I would highly recommend the XF Shape Ups (specially those of you that don't like the look of the original Shape Ups). The XF is for Extended Fitness. These are shoes you can wear all day and they are a lower profile. I LOVE LOVE these ones. Also in the fall there will be a whole running line of these shoes that are the best! The accounts are so excited about these shoes and they are very technical. I can't wait to get a hold of these ones as well. Here is the link to the XF Shapeups I just got so you can see that they are lower profile. (Also, I speak from experience....I work at corporate) SKECHERS Official Shoe Store | Women's Shape-ups XF | Shape-Ups Xf - Accellerators

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yeah, but they are made by the same company, doesn't that count for something? By the way, how does your butt look in them, a little heal can raise the butt, without any exercise!

| I love you thinking!! Those sandals are really comfortable because the whole foot bed is cushiony. You can wear them out and your feet don't hurt! Luckily I live at the beach and we can wear those as going out shoes!! I would recommend those ones too!

YT 2000 Club Member | I have wanted to get a pair of these shoes but I have such small feet that they do not carry them in my size! I take a size 2 1/2 in kid size
