I can only pray for the people of Nashville. I saw the cow in the picture and it reminded me of when there was a flood here and there was a photo of a cow on top of a small building!

This is so devastating for so many people. I didn't even know about it till yesterday. Did all this come from a storm? It's unbelievable. Prayers for everyone there, and for the families who have lost loved ones. So sad.

yes, amazingly enough this is all a result of 2 days of straight pouring rain. we got 13+ inches in a very widespread area. Once all of that rain finally made it to the river, the river flooded the town. completely unreal. they are calling it the 1,000 year flood.

On a side note... We are still planning on being in Nashville (our first trip ever) Memorial Day weekend. We are going to visit our friend's son that plays music and and around Nashville. I imagine we will really get the feel for the destruction of the flood, and the spirit of the people of Nashville, as they rebuild and help their neighbors.

Glad you are still coming! It's amazing how fast the clean up and restoration is going....people are really pulling together to get everything back in order!!! This city will be better than ever and I'm thinking by Memorial Day, most of the businesses downtown will be open again. ***hoping***

I was watching the news last night and it looks like all of Nashville has united to clean and help in the flooded areas.

For you... only a few more weeks. Are you excited? Are your weddding preparations completed?

oh yes, nashville is an AMAZING city full of angels!!! We have not gotten much national attention and it is said that it is because we have taken care of it ourselves. SOOO many people have volunteered countless hours and money to help get this place restored and going again. I am so excited!

wedding plans are FAR from completed, but I am getting there

I got the cake ordered yesterday, dress is at the cleaners being steamed, bridesmaid is coming over tomorrow to help finish decorations and make the party favors, menu is made, dj is all set to come and party with us...just need to meet with photographer and make sure we are on the same page. I'm getting so excited...hard to believe it is just 2 1/2 weeks away!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and also on being part of a community that has a "get it done" attitude in recovering from the flooding. The video you posted was shocking to me, as I hardly heard anything about it. Best of luck in all regards!
