Sad heart I would like to ask you all a favor.First a little bit of background. My nephew died 2 weeks ago in a 1 car accident when the car he was driving went off the edge of the road & he lost control of the car which tipped & slammed into a tree. He had 2 of his good friends in the car as well. One of the other young men died at the scene & the other is still in critical icu. We know that he was driving at a high rate of speed & that all 3 young men had alcohol in their systems. We don't know what happened just before the accident & may never know but this is a tragedy that never should have happened. He was 19, his friends are 22 & 23. Three families with lots & lots of extensions are feeling the loss of these young men. I beg you to talk to your young people about how very dangerous it is to get behind the wheel of a car or to get INTO a car when the person driving has been drinking. I'm living proof that it doesn't always happen to someone elses' family. :( |
I am so sorry for your family and for the families of the other boys. How very tragic and you will be in my thoughts. |
Very sorry for your loss - warm thoughts for your family and all of the affected parties. |
Thank you...I just hope that one life can be changed by the telling of the story, sad as it is for all involved. |
I'm so sorry for your loss... I'm 20 and I have friends that are partyers and they know that no matter the time they can call me (and have) and I'll come get them. My 14 year old sister is...well lets say she is into too much she shouldn't be...and she knows that I'll come get her no matter what. |
I am so sorry for the lose of your nephew. Both of my boys are the same age of your nephew and his friends and I also have a teenage daughter who is 14. When my boys were in HS I always told them to call me if they were at a party and there was alcohol involved~no questions-no lectures on the ride home. My offer still stands today and they are now 21 and 23. My daughter knows as well that I am always just a phone call away. Believe me I would so much rather have gotten a call to pick them up than to get the phone call that your nephews and his friends parents received. :( *Before anyone gets the idea that I condoned teenage drinking that is NOT what I am implying. |
My condolences for the loss all of you have suffered. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Thank you for the reminder about drinking and driving, especially timely with prom and high school graduations going on now. |
Prayers and blessings to you and your family. |
How devastating for all involved. I am just so sorry. We have been very blessed that none of our three children partied in high school/college. Just recently our dd informed us that she is supporting her boyfriend's decision to not even social drink by not doing any herself. I don't know the story behind that decision......and I probably don't want to know. May our Heavenly Father wrap his comforting arms around you, your extended family, and friends. ~Joanne~ |
I am so sorry for your tragic loss, and thank you for the reminder. It is a topic that is discussed regularly in my house, and still I know there are no guarantees when they walk out that door, but trust that they will listen. |
They are all in my prayers. |
