| Feed and Grain Mills - pet foods Does anybody else go to these for other "House pet " foods? I just thought in case anybody didn't know I would tell them about the great deals they have for other pets. For things like hamsters and rabbits they can't be beat! Anywhere from $5-10 for 25 lb. bags of food. I have one that sells $5 for 25 lbs or $2.50 for 10 lbs. Bird food(parrots , cockatiels finches, lovebirds...etc.), I pay $22.50 for 25 pounds of brand name parrot food. Pet store price is usually 30% higher. I also pay $42 for 20 lbs. of human grade, brand name shelled nut mix for the big birds. Pet shop price is 30% higher. Raw hides and chews and pig ears and the likes are usually 20% less and you can buy singles or however many you want. One of the places near me sells HUGE pig ears that are top notch with flavor for 50 cents each. the dogs go crazy over them and they are fresh processed. If you have an actual grain store animal food processing plant near you they usually have a company small store with their own brand in plain packages or plastic bags. I have found some of these to be exactly the same as the fancy brand names because they were processed and packaged at the plant that only changes packaging. Just ask at the counter and they can usually tell you in an off hand way. These places are usually not really "stores" so don't expect it. they are usually like a spare office with an outside entrance and very basic and stark inside. You usually have to find 2-3 different ones to get the things you need for the cheapest prices.Luckily I have alot of these around me. I still haven't found some things but I love what i have found
