Huge centipede...eeeek!!

I am absolutely PETRIFIED of centipedes, and go figure I spotted a huge one today. What really stinks is that it climbed into a big box I had taken out to pull out my summer clothes and other things, and now I'm too scared to go into it! I don't know what to do...it's getting very warm and I need those clothes. I guess if anyone here in Michigan sees a girl wearing winter clothes this summer they'll know it's me haha.

You could get some tongs and rubber boots when you sort through the box.....

LOL, Sorry to laugh, we don't get the really big ones around here. In fact, I never realized they got SO big!! Then, one day my dd sent me a picture text of one like that in her dorm room! Not sure, but if I was guessing, it was trophy size!! All I can say is those things are
g-r-o-s-s!!!! I sure hope she never brings one home in her bags and infests my house or I'm moving out!! Hope you get brave enough to get your clothes.

I think I'll pass on the tongs and just put my hands in the rubber boots lol.

The thing that really stinks for me is that I'm so terrified of them that I can't even kill them. Ugh...just the thought of all those nasty furry legs flying off when someone squashes them gives me the willies!

TROPHY size??? OMG, I would die. Literally...die! I swear my fear is unnatural. These and spiders top my list. Thank God my "huge" one is only about 2", but it's still 2" too big!

As much as I hate seeing them, at this point I'd rather see it just to know where it actually is because the not knowing where it'll pop up is killing me now.

Oh, and once I had one fall on my head in my car. I screamed so loud my neighbors thought I was being murdered with a hacksaw. Needless to say, I didn't drive for over a week.

Yeah, well the ones we get are about 1 inch long and very skinny and they like to live in the dirt, not houses. Hers was the giant house centipede which was about 2 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide. It was the 3rd or 4th one they had found in their dorm. I have never seen one like that before! Whoa! I was both amazed, and shocked that she was still living there. I hate spiders too.

Whooooooa, Michigan??? One fall on you? Hmmm, thankfully I have never had a problem with them inside houses or cars... And here I thought we were a pretty non-buggy state. I hate bugs so, so, so very much...

Yuck, I think it might be time for new clothes. No way I would dig through that stuff. Maybe just throw it all in the washer on cold with one of those color catcher sheets.

Centipedes in general scare me...but those things are HORRENDOUS.

Centipedes in general scare me...but those things are HORRENDOUS.

YESSSSS that's it. Not only are they super-duper creepy and icky, but they scurry along soooooo fast it makes them even more creepy! And the worst part...when they're killed their 100s of nasty legs fly off their body.

blargh!!! I haaaate them sooo much. I wouldn't know about the legs...I've NEVER had the guts to get close enough to kill them. I don't know what I'm going to do when I move out and live on my own with no one to kill them for me!!

There are so many creepy things about them. Especially that they live for like 7 years. UGH UGH UGH.

I really can't express how deep my hatred/fear of them goes haha.

Yeah, I'm the exact same way as you. Living alone is great until you get a creepy-crawly that scares the bejesus outta you and there's no one there to kill it for you! I had an encounter with yet ANOTHER centipede in my last apartment (why oh why do they seek me out???), and it was around midnight. I managed to trap it inside an upside-down cup and ran to my sleeping neighbor's apartment to beg him to get rid of it for me. Mind you...we barely knew each other and he probably thought I was a nutcase at that hour in the night, but desperate times call for desperate measures lol! He was sweet enough to kill it for me and dispose of it. Afterwards, we actually became friends because of that "encounter".

I had never even HEARD of them until we moved for the first time about 2 1/2 years ago. We moved into this ranch house that was VERY close to the woods, and was all cement (it was a pretty home though). But suddenly, there were these NASTIES all over the master bath!! Then every time I went into the hall bath there would be one trying to climb out of the tub!! I don't know how I lived in that house for a year and half LOL.

We moved into our now house one year ago tomorrow, and I've only seen a handful of them. Not like before...I'm telling you in that first house, every time I walked into the bathroom there were more! It was like a bad horror film haha.

I want to move to Manhattan. I hear those apartments have cockroaches Though I'd take cockroaches over these beasts any day.
