| Firefox/Windows help needed This is embarrassing, but I need help figuring out how to configure Firefox in Windows XP so that I can simply download pictures as .jpgs, etc. Currently, my Firefox is downloading all images as Paint Shop Pro files (I have PSP loaded on the computer) and it is really irritating to have to convert the images. I tried the Mozilla help pages, but I can't make heads or tails of what they recommend. Do I need a plug in of some sort? I looked in the Tools > Options > Manage downloads and that only gives me the option of where to save, not the format or file type. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | go to your Control Panel Click Folder Options Click RESTORE Defaults if that doesn't work you can open that same Folder Option window and set jpegs to open in a different program you'd click the tab FILE TYPES (at the top) - scroll to and click JPEG and click the CHANGE tab. Then you have an option to use whatever program you want as a default. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ps - if you want all jpeg type of files to open with the same program (the .jpg AND .JPEG file extensions) - you have to 'set' each one but try the restore default option first - |

| In Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Applications. In the Content Type column, find .jpg (.jpeg) and in the Action column select the down arrow and choose Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, Always Ask or choose the viewer of your choice. I have PSP and my Action for .jpg is currently set to Always Ask. Good luck!

| Let's try clearing your cache... Firefox 3.5 for Windows From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History... . From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything. Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose what history elements to clear (e.g., check Cookies to clear cookies). Click Clear Now. Firefox 3 for Windows From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data... , and then check Cache and Cookies. Click Clear Private Data Now.

Now, can either of you tell me why my printer/scanner suddenly isn't getting along with my Mac? I think it is rebelling for lack of attention and use. | |

| Unfortunately I haven't used a MAC in ages! Sometimes an uninstall/reinstall works miracles. Perhaps there's an expert out there who can help.
