In Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Applications.
In the Content Type column, find .jpg (.jpeg) and in the Action column select the down arrow and choose Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, Always Ask or choose the viewer of your choice.
I have PSP and my Action for .jpg is currently set to Always Ask.
