| Why own a dog? (Poem) Why own a dog? There's a danger here, you know, You can't own just one, for the craving will only grow. There is no doubt, puppies are addictive, Wherein lies the danger. Each one will steal your heart, As you grow poorer and stranger! One dog is no trouble, and two can be so funny. The third one is easy, The fourth one's a honey. The fifth one's delightful, The sixth one's a breeze, You find that you can live in a "full" house with ease! So, how 'bout another? Do you really dare? They're really quite delightful, but, "Lord at all the hair!" Dogs on the sofa and dogs on the bed, Crates in the kitchen.... You must have lost your head! They really are no trouble, their manners are simply great. It's only one more dog, and only one more crate! Yes, the sofa is somewhat hairy, and the windows are slightly crusty, There are pawprints on the floor, and the furniture is dusty. You know you're going to keep him, You know you'll find the room! But forget about more time, for the dust cloth and the broom. There's got to be a limit to the dogs that you can add, But the thought of a "cutback" Just makes you feel so sad! Each one is oh, so special, so enjoyable and funny. But the vet bills growing larger, and now you owe him money! The lawn has finally died, and the shrubs are dying too, All your weekends are busy, just grooming your furry crew. Is all this trouble worth it? Are you caught in a trap? Then that favorite puppy sees you, and slips onto your lap. Some dogs are just for showing and some are just to breed. But these are just for loving, and they surely meet that need! Sure, your life-style has changed. Things will never be the same. Yes, puppies are addictive And,I guess that I'm insane! ~*~Author Unknown~*~ |
