It works best if you have a Facebook account with friends already. Then you can use the "Suggest to Friends" option to invite fans. As people become fans, it shows on their status updates so others may choose to become fans. Not sure how it would work if you aren't active on Facebook, though.

somebody already "fanned" me though. How did they do it? I don't see a "become a fan" button anywhere.

It's right next to the name of your store on the top. There is a clickable "Become a Fan" icon.

Facebook is a great way to go. I have a fan page for my yorkies there (Blue Sky Yorkies). Welcome to Facebook | Facebook

Another site host is webs.com, formerly freewebs.com. It is free, but also upgradable if you want.

This probably not what you want to hear but have you tried advertising in your local paper or magazines? Do you have local craft/art shows in your area that you can exhibit in? While your site is great and your product is great, you do mostly work with dogs. Can you make up some more pictures of labels/cards with babies, couples, etc? If you exhibit in local shows, you can show these as well. Have a binder available with your work.

With wedding season coming up, I would think you do great! Labels alone for the invitiations, response cards and the married couple-thank you cards would be a market to go after. or "save the date" cards.

And then of course baby showers--thank you cards with pictures of the newborn in the labels or cards.

Unfortunately, it takes money to make money...I'm finding that out myself as I am getting ready to start a website of my own. Good luck. B

Just a side note on the wedding stuff--my wedding is this summer and I just made my own save the date magnets using the avery magnet business card paper you can get at OfficeMax/Depot...wherever. Save the date magnets are really big lately, maybe you could offer those?

I also want to add that an eBay Store is also another avenue. There is a $15.99/monthly fee plus, listing & final value fee's as well. It is a great way to get your product out there.

I wish you lots of luck in whichever avenue you try. If it's your passion...try a few things and don't give up!

I use freewebs.com , now called Webs.com, for both of my websites. They are free and then I bought my domain names for $20 a year. Not bad at all. Here are both of my sites:

Thanks guys for the ideas ! I'll have to start getting serious again - things were rolling along until just the last few months and I miss working on the side - plus I have all the supplies I need and it's all just sitting here

I may try Ebay again - and think I'll keep the site. A good friend and I designed it together and I hate to lose all the work we put into it....

and Breny - I just looked at your free sites (Again) - gotta tell you - that bedroom is great !
