taking it off is..... not as fun. that's why i think i might still have my winter coat from the previous year underneath my current winter coat. no wonder i am so warm this winter! |
Sending "get well" wishes to Ambrey today. Please let us know how she is feeling after surgery. This brings back memories of the day we took Daisy in for her spay six years ago. I was a nervous wreck until I had my baby in my arms again. |

Have been away for awhile, but just saw the post. Keeping Ambrey in our thoughts today. What a wonderfully kind thing you have done for the pup! Thank goodness that there are people like you here. |
Thanks for all the well wishes :). Just a really quick update. We just got Ambrey home from her spay...she did great, but is shaky and walking gingerly (ie, tail tucked) and has this sad look on her face (I feel so bad for her! :(). Thank gosh I told my husband he *had* to come w/ me to pick her up - I sat in the back seat w/ her in my lap - she shook almost the whole way home. Vet told us to have her eat and drink a little when we got home - she wouldn't do either. I think she just needs to sleep right now. I cuddled my night t-shirt around her neck so my smell is right there and she is curled up on her new, super-cushy bed....so I guess I'll just watch her, let her sleep and try to feed her in a little bit. I have pain meds for 3 days. I know she will be fine :)! |

ann, she sounds like such a sweet love bug! :) |

Poor baby.....give her kisses from me. You'll probably need pain meds for about 24 hours.......I'm sure they gave her a pain shot before she came home. |

So glad Ambrey is home and recovering from her spay, I hope she heals quickly! |
Happy to hear she came thru ok, the worst is over. Now she can be pampered a bit as she heals and returns to her sweet life. |
Big hugs to Ambrey! |
Oh, the poor girl! I'm glad she's back home and doing well, but I still want to send her some get well lovins! |
Oh, PHEW :). She is doing SO much better this a.m. than last night - I never did get her to drink/eat a *thing* last night - except to force a pain pill; she did not feel good last night at all. Think the anesthesia got out of her system overnight though - different doggie this a.m. - sitting up, tail wagging, drank a bunch of water, peed/pooped, I gave her some bread to carb-her-up, kibble is available, walking around, sniffin' at toys, bright eyes, lookin' for love :D. Still, I took the day off from work. She's curled up in a ball sleeping. Pain pill on board. She's SWEEPY :p. |
Ann, I am happy to read that Ambrey is doing so well! I know you have heard this many times, but I will say again...she is soooo lucky to have found you!! |
I'm glad she's feeling better! This brings me back to the day Kaji got neutered. He had the "wobbly head syndrome" that first day. He looked like a little drunk man! |
Updates please:) |

We ended up hooking up w/ an incredible rescue named "Valley Dogs", here in Phoenix - and they did her ad for us, and paid for her spay. They were willing to pay for all of that, as long as we would keep her/foster her until we found her forever home - we said "YES, OF COURSE!:)" -- they were incredible. And *we* could approve of her forever home. I could *not* have fathomed a more perfect family for her - she "adopted" :p a stay-at-home Mom, the most kind Dad, a 10 year old skin sister, and 7 yr old skin brother. She sleeps w/ Mom and Dad at night. She is an inside dog, of course, but has a huge, block fence - swingset and all. I email w/ Ambrey's Mom, Kristina, about once a week or so - and Ambrey is spoiled something rotten. We just love her and still miss her (always will), but we are just thrilled knowing she is loved and givin' love in this family. Oh...and get this...this family was looking/hoping for a "brindle-coat, adult, female pittie/staffie" -- I know...could it have been any more perfect :D??? Oh, btw, we saw Ambrey and her new family about 3 weeks ago or so - and ALL of her head wounds are now grown over by fur...you would not even know she had those wounds on her head :). She looks more beauteous than ever! |
That is so great, such an amazing happy ending for Ambrey, I am so glad she has found such a wonderful family to love her!! |
So glad to hear everything turned out great for Ambrey. I had been wondering about her too, and kept forgetting to ask. She was one very lucky pooch to have you take her in and lovingly care for her until her forever family came along. :good job: |
I just love happy endings! So wonderful and thanks for sharing. :) |
Ann, you have a Heart of Gold! |
I apologize for bumping my own thread, however, I've received quite a few PMs lately regarding all of the "negative Pit Bull threads" - and I just wanted to prove that I know *for sure* there are very positive Pit Bull threads and comments here at YT. :D :D :D |

To fear one does not mean you don't want what's best for them. I followed your story from the first time it was posted and I am so happy this lady has gotten a loving home and a family all her own. |
