| Reputable Maltese Breeders??? A friend of mine is looking into buying a Maltese and I suggested to her to start looking up some breeders and talking to them. I could only come up with a few that I have actually heard good things about. Does anyone have any first hand experience with a good, AKC registered, show breeder? Thanks!

| How funny! My friend is looking to buy one for his mother. I found a really nice lady that actually lives pretty close to me here in Pa. I know nothing about the maltese breed but through talking with her, she has many of the same beliefs that I do when it comes to raising Yorkies.

| The best place for your friend to start is the American Maltese Association's Breeder list: http://www.americanmaltese.org/2009_...eders_List.pdf |

| Thank You everyone! That's a great start. She's here in Las Vegas. She used to be my neighbor but still comes over to take care of the house next door. Her daughter is the same age as mine and used to be close friends. She's just starting to look and I've filled her in on a lot but not having a Maltese before I'm limited on what direction to give her on them. She's undecided between a Yorkie & a Maltese. She's had Chi's the last 10 yrs.

| Actually, Tonia's prices have come down in the past couple of years. I have seen her advertise puppies for under $2,000 which is amazing considering their pedigree and health. Many Maltese show breeders are $3,000 and up for females. I know several people with Rhapsody Maltese and the first thing they rave about is their personality. Tonia is so careful to breed for temperament. |

| katelin - hadn't heard of this breeder before but I did look her up after you posted about her. Nice.... LONG line of CH's Thanks for mentioning her. Mary & Marj - I had heard of Rhapsody before and it was one that i emailed my friend about but I didn't know of anyone that actually knew her. Thanks for telling me about her. She does have "one" available for a pet home - and he is from a beautiful dam! I already emailed my friend about him.
