| Best Steamer & carpet cleaner... Hey guys... okay here is the problem... I have very light carpet and it looks dirty right away, I have rented the "rug doctor steam cleaner " a million times but it only seems to do the trick for maybe 2 weeks worth. What happened was that when we got our first dog, he would pee on the carpet and the stuff we were using I guess didn't do the job correctly, so you can still see all the stains... the carpet doesn't smell nor does the house but you can see the dark stains. Now I am thinking of buying a steam cleaner... any suggestions ? I know you can make home remedies but there are so many stains it would literally take too long.... any ideas???? |

| I live the Bissel Pro Heat if you want to purchase an inexpensive Machine. Around $150 I also have a BIG $450 machine but the Bissell proheat works just as well. Also depending on which carpets I clean I use diffeent solutions. Spot Shot is a good pretreater. Spot Shot comes in a spray can in the grocery stores or Home depot type stores.. if I am doing light carpets I might also throw some color safe bleach liquid in. Remember to always rinse with a clear water rinse using the machine because even cleaner residue attracts dirt. The Bissell Pro heat is an all in one where youcan choose a button to do cleaning or rinsing without switching any buckets or anything. I carpet clean very often... with the Bissell it is no harder then a regular vacuuming

| I have the same one and I also paid about $180 for it. I'm pleased with mine too...I would have been a lot happier if I had paid $100 less!!

| it has been a long time since i purchased my cleaner so i don't remember what i paid for it. i got the hoover wide path. i love it. it replaced my more expensive kenmore, which hurt my back to run. the hoover wide path is no more like vaccuming slowly. i use it so much i don't even have a permanent resting place for it.

| After cleaning your carpet try rinsing it with pure vinegar -- the vinegar removes any soap residue which attracts dirt. This should help the carpet stay cleaner longer. |
