| 4.5hours and $300 later.... I got a new hairdo!!! I know I'm crazy! I went to the salon today, first time in OVER a year. I never pamper myself or even get my haircut, so today I went. I booked an appt for a haircut. What I actually ended up doing was getting an adorable cut, a modified bob with the sides longer than the back, I got a full comb through color of chocolate brown and then I got some chunky blonde and red red highlights throughout. The most expensive part I got though was a Brazilian Keratin Treatment. This is a product that relaxes your hair for 2 - 3 months. It is supposed to leave your hair shiny, smooth, easy to blow dry, straighter and with NO FRIZZ! I don't know how it worked yet though bc they put it in your hair, blow it dry straight and then straight iron it. Then you leave. This leaves your hair a bit stiff and goopey feeling. You can wash it out anytime after you get home up to a couple days if you want. I was planning on washing it out on saturday, but after I felt it I am not sure.... I might do it sooner than that. I will then see what it feels like and how it dries after I wash it for the first time. I can't believe I did this.... so not like me to spend so much or do something so big on a whim like that. they were having a price special and Ive thought about it in the past and today I had the time, nothing pressing going on ... so I did it. I really hope it comes out good!!!

| Pictures please!!! That's nice that you did something for yourself. I laugh at my girls they go for manicures and pedicures and silk nails. They are 15 and 18. I never in my life got a manicure or a pedicure. Congratulations on your new hair. Hope the straightening thing works out.

| I really did need a good pampering... I mean how many people pay $300 a year for haircare? Cuts, colors, etc... I have not been to the salon in over a year. Today was the first time I ever got foils from a salon and only the second time I ever got a color in my life. The first time was corrective from a box color that messed up my hair! This was pretty awesome!!! I can't put up pics yet... see the thing is when they put the stuff in your hair, it's like a cream, and they paint it on like color, then they blow your hair out with a blow dryer and brush. After that they do it with a straight iron. It makes your hair feel stiff, like you put gel in it before you straightened it. So although it's cute, its not 'done' yet until I find the time to wash it out and style it myself. Once I do that, I will try to get pics up. In the last month I have started to do some things for myself that I never did in my life. I am going to see a dermatologist, I had a facial, I got GOOD skin care and makeup products and now my hair. I am 33 next week and I need a pick me up! BF choked when I told him the cost! Ooppss Actually he was ok with it once he realized I go once a year. This stuff needs to be redone every 2 - 3 months though if I love it. Thats quite a bit of money!

BioSilk Silk Therapy-5.64 oz. its great, you use a dime size amount, towel dry and then put the dime size all over your hair. then blow dry. Makes your hair soooo shiny and silky!! it doesnt make your hair feel all goopy or stiff!! I also use a "chi" iron. Its the best!! CHI Ceramic Flat Iron (Original 1" CHI), GF1001, Free Shipping thats a good price I paid 120 at target!! Thats all my hair tips!! Let me know if you have any questions!!

| ok, here are some before pics... I don't have any recent pics with my hair down. I never wear it down and curly. I have decent curls but the roots are really curly so my hair does not lie nice and flat, it poofs like crazy! So when it's curly I pull it all up and back. The first pic I was 22, thats probably the only time you would have seen me with my hair down. I chemically relaxed it back then to get it that flat... but also it was really long so it stretched the curls a bit. The second pic was just a few weeks ago but my hair is up, you can still see the crazy curliness though!

| I say dont worry about the price...you have a right to treat yourself!! I spend 150$ for my hair every 6-8 weeks...so trust me, you're ahead of the game!! I use a product for my hair which is very light...called A & G Set it Straight. It's great. People cant even tell i have naturally curly hair when i straighten it. And trust me..you dont want to see me with curly hair..its what i like to call 80's Rocker chick hair! UGH! Yikes! Anyways...enjoy yourself! Live life...cause theres only one go around!!

YT Addict | I absolutely love your new hairstyle. I have mine in a similar cut. With the straightner they put in your hair will you still have to flat iron everyday? I have curly/wavy hair and have to flat iron my everyday...it really doesn't take a long time to do but does damage the ends of my hair. |
