| Baby Dachshund Puppy with special needs / needs help 6 wks 2 lbs Baby Dachshund Puppy with special needs (dayton mall area)Ohio this is not my dog. Date: 2009-10-22, 7:38PM EDT Reply to: comm-requb-1433483284@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will someone open their hearts and their home to this little special needs guy? Born 9-2-09 I had a litter of doxie pups and Everyone seemed to be doing ok except for when they started walking I noticed that one of them wasnt moving around alot or walking that well....When I took them to the vet to get first shots done Vet said more than likely he Had something Called "Drunken Puppy Syndrome" or Tumbling Puppy Syndrome He has good days and he has bad days. But honestly in these hard times I dont have the money to get all kinds of test run on him or to supply him with any medication that he may need in the future....Id like someone who is willing to go to extremes to making him as healthy and as happy as possible to adopt him. He deserves the best. He is a wonderful sweet loving puppy. A perfect little lap dog! Weighing in at 6 wks only 2 lbs. Im asking a small adoption fee of 50.00 only to reasure myself that he will be getting a home who is willing to care for any special needs he may have. Im also going to request New owners go with me or meet me at a Jacks pet shop to buy for him the puppy food he is eating and the puppy Nutri-cal he is on. Im willing to give his reg.papers and 3rd generation background chart Only if new owners will sign an agreement stating that He will not be breed as this condition can be genetic and that he will have the best care and love that can be given! Im asking people to find it in their hearts not to flag my ad for this puppies sake....The sooner he can find a new home the sooner he can be better taken care of....Thanks for reading and understanding! | This so heartbreaking and absolutely disgusting....these ignorant greedy BYB continue to breed then when there is a problem they refuse to take responsibility. She will probably dump this poor puppy onto someone else or let it die then continue to breed away...how sad.

| Jody is right. I'll just add that if they truly want help for this pup they will turn him or her over to a reputable rescue with a donation and ask for their help. They'll sell the healthy pups yet they want to pass off their unsellable pup to anyone with $50.00. Terrible. If you are going to breed be ready to have the funds and be responsible enough to take care of even the unsellable pups. They are ALL your responsibility as a breeder. | First off I think the lady that is selling the sick puppy needs to either just give the puppy to someone, or do the humain thing and have him put to sleep if he is really that bad off. It is very obviouse that she doesn't care about the puppy, only the money, if she cared more about the puppy she would have just said FREE PUPPY for anyone who wants to help a special needs puppy who NEEDS medical help. I am all for saving puppies and dogs but if they are really that bad off and are going to have medical problems all there lives, is it really worth watching them suffer? I would say do the humain thing and have him put to sleep. But if he isn't that bad off, well then have him fixed up and when someone comes to buy the puppy charge more for him.

| She admits that it can be genetic. I hope she lets the new owners of the rest of the litter know that...to ensure they will be fixed and hopefully she will have her pair fixed also.

| yorkieshadow...hun I know you have the best of intentions but instead of helping bail out a BYB and encouraging her to continue breeding without funds or education there are so many others we can put our time into

| She does admit it can be genetic. and the reason she is charging is because she has to on craigslist or she will be flagged. |

| By paying for her mistake will only encourage her to continue...she may anyway. Breeders shouldnt breed without funds to pay for these problems.

but instead of helping bail out a BYB and encouraging her to continue breeding unless you are in agreement with BYBers yes this might be a BYB and yes Im sure rescues are tired of it.( I know I am) but where do you think most of rescues are coming from. BYB , mills and people who didn't need a dog in the first place. why can we try and help one pup and not another? I only posted this cause I felt sorry for that pup and afraid that he may be in pain. The email is right there. why don't you all email her and nicely try and educate her point her in the right direction. why does all the threads have to turn out like this? if the pup is suffering and cant be helped maybe she should put it to sleep instead of letting it suffer. but maybe it can be helped. we dont know that. | |
