| Babies & Dogs Are Fashion Accessories These articles really strike a nerve w/ me because a lot of the time they are true. A lot of people do view dogs as mere fashion accessories. Here's the link to the article: http://channels.netscape.com/celebrity/story.jsp?id=2005092916211322276460&dt=20050929162 100&w=PR&coview=&photoid=20050929CACP101&maxstorie s=5&storyterm='demi+moore' I will copy and paste the article below (just in case someone can't open the link): SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- What do Hollywood uber-couples Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger, and Luciana Barroso and Matt Damon have in common? They're all either pregnant or just had babies! That's right, babies are the hottest fashion accessory in Hollywood, having displaced miniature dogs as the companion of choice for celebrities. Recognizing this baby trend, Betmaker today announced odds on which celebrity will be the next to have a bun in the oven. Betmaker's oddsmakers think a J. Lo / Marc Anthony genetically-gifted offspring is just around the corner, giving 2 to 5 odds that J. Lo is the celebrity most likely to become pregnant. Newly-married Demi Moore is the next favorite at 6 to 4. Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, Moore and Ashton Kutcher today announced that they are not yet pregnant, but that they're trying. Hollywood sex kittens Mary Kate (15 to 1) and Ashley Olsen (10 to 1), Eva Longoria (15 to 1), and Jessica Simpson (10 to 1) are also favored to get pregnant. Rounding out the bottom of the list of celebrities as the least likely to get pregnant are the sultry serial-adopter Angelina Jolie (30 to 1) and Hilary Duff (30 to 1), and the steamy Bea Arthur (100 to 1). "Celebrity pregnancies are a hot topic. Celebrity families used to be off the radar, away from the eye of the press, and off limits to the rest of society; but in today's celebrity-crazy fandom, they're all the rage," said Betmaker's Tim Carter. "This bet -- and these odds -- give star-watchers a tremendous opportunity to become a part of the phenomena. The response so far has been tremendous!" The full list of celebrities and odds is as follows: Celebrity Odds Jennifer Lopez 2 to 5 Demi Moore 6 to 4 Ashley Olsen 10 to 1 Jessica Simpson 10 to 1 Mary Kate Olsen 15 to 1 Eva Longoria 15 to 1 Both Olsens 20 to 1 Mischa Barton 20 to 1 Paris Hilton 25 to 1 Lindsay Lohan 25 to 1 Nicole Richie 25 to 1 Angelina Jolie 30 to 1 Hillary Duff 30 to 1 Bea Arthur 100 to 1 For more information -- and to wager on which celebrity will be the next to get pregnant -- visit http://www.betmaker.com.

| Entertainment reporters actually refer to pregnancies and owning a pet as a "trend". wow how insensitive. It's a shame because young kids who look up to these celebrities would have misconstrued idea of what responsibilty is. |

| Paris hilton is the best example of this as far as pet trends go. Getting rid of tinkerbell like she is somekind of outdated handbag! I really dont like her.

| Paris didn't get rid of her dog. The dog is w/ her mom. And since Paris does do a lot of travelling...it can be a bit of an inconvenience for her to travel w/ her dog all the time. She travels throughout the world to various premieres, events, parties, etc. Here is a scenario: How would you like it, if your parents were taking you around to various meetings and social events all the time? No real stability. No real "home" setting, except maybe once a month. Always on the go. On a plane. Living in a hotel room. Same situation here, except we are talking about Paris and her dog. I don't know about you...but the life of a actor/actress (even a growing celebrity) is a rough one. There are a lot of commitments made that you have to be at, regardless of whether you like to or not. Some of you think it is cruel, but personally...I think it was a better and far smarter decision to leave her dog w/ her mom. The mom can provide a more stable environment for her dog. At the very least, Paris came to this decision and did what she thought was best for HER dog. You guys may not agree, but you don't know her life anymore than she knows yours. |

| I own an 8 pound Yorkie, and a 1.7 pound Maltese. For obvious reasons,...I find it extremely easier to bring my Maltese out when I go out shopping. I can easily carry her w/ one hand. On the other hand, I find it easier to bring my Yorkie when I go to the park and go jogging. He runs along w/ me. Are there times when I bring both out w/ me? Yes. But there are times when I brought one and not the other. I have also left them both at home. So is my Maltese a fashion accessory? No, because I bring her out to get a breath of fresh air, help her w/ socialization, and give her exercise. Her mellow and laid back personality make her easy to travel with. Is my Yorkie a fashion accessory? No, because I bring him out for exercise and socialization. His high energy level and desire for attention make him not a good candidate to travel with, as he is easily distracted and a bit hard to control when strangers want to randomly come up and pet him. Given his size, I can't hold him w/ just a single hand and at times, I have to restrain him using both my hands. Want to see an example of Paris' schedule? Go to wireimage.com. Enter "Paris Hilon" as the search criteria. You'll be able to pull up photos of various events that she is at. It'll also show the date, as well as the location. Take note of her schedule and maybe you'll understand. I'll just stop here...Paris can do what she wants so long as she isn't harming her animals. Last edited by DomLee; 10-03-2005 at 07:14 AM. |

| My Maltese, Codie, is 6 lbs. My Yorkie, Katie, is 2.6 lbs. I can easily carry them both with me when I go shopping or to the nail salon, etc. But that's me. Of course Paris Hilton can do whatever she wants with her dogs -- no one is arguing that fact. I am, just like everyone else, expressing my opinion.
