I also have a cousin who in the 70's had the swine flu vaccine and almost died from Guillan-Barre Syndrome. She was paralyzed and spent months in the hospital and almost died. She did eventually recover by the paralysis never fully went away in her face. She passed away a few years ago from breast cancer. :( I really do not think the government is putting tracking chips into people with the H1N1 vaccine. I think someone needs to visit their local psychiatrist for a good long sit down. I believe that vaccine have saved many lives and they have also cause adverse affects in some and the positive outweighs the negative unless you are one who has had a negative. |
so THAT's where my tin foil hat went! |
I'm going to knock on wood as I say this. About 5 years ago I got the flu. It was 3 days of feeling crappy, fever, sore body, tired - slept a lot, no throwing up or anything else unpleasant and then boom it was gone as quick as it came. That is the ONLY time I can remember having the flu. I guess because I don't get sick often I have no idea how bad the flu can really be, I'm going to take my chances... but if I had a small child, an elderly parent/grandparent living with me or someone with a compromised immune system (like my mother with fibromyalsia) I wouldn't think twice about getting what vaccine I needed to get to help them stay healthy. |

In my opinion, if the government was gonna kill us, they'd do it with something a little stronger than swine flu. Two of my good friends had it. wasn't too much worse than the normal flu. :p |
I just heard on the news 49 people in AZ have died from it, and they don't have enough shots to go around. |
ITT: the world is ending |
I think that lady is a few fries short of a happy meal:D I think everyone needs to weigh the pros and cons of getting the flu shot. I work in a school but am generally very healthy (except for my uncanny ability to get strep!) so I decided not to get the flu shot until I'm older or have young kids at home. I think the H1N1 flu is too new to get, but that is just my own opinion. I think the H1N1 saga has been blown out of proportion....don't forget, 36,000 people die in the US every year from the regular flu. We need to take basic precautions to avoid getting sick and be extra careful during cold and flu season....Germ-X was on the supply list this year:D |
I get the flu shot every year and haven't had the flu but before I started taking it I got the flu every time....now on the other hand I won't be taking the H1N1 flu shot as I believe one shot is enough....I believe Vaccs are important in children to protect from certain diseases as I do in my animals but after a round of vaccs I give no more period...I don't believe animals should have yearly vaccs for the rest of their lives but if it needs to be done because there is a case in our area would I consider it yes otherwise as long as that particular disease is not in my area one vacc is enough....It's up to the individual and their choice. |
For those of you keeping an eye on the H1N1 flu counts, here is a helpful website that updates with current info every 4 minutes. For cases all over the globe. flucount.org |
