Have you all heard??? It is going to be a movie. I don't know, usually books this good are a let down on the big screen. What do you all think?

well a) I SO knew this- I have been telling my mom FOREVER that these would be great movies and b) I'm so glad I've read them first- anything in movie form (unless they totally change it) will be great.

I heard a while back that this is going to be a movie. It will be very interesting to see what they do with it. Can't wait for the 3rd book.

if you haven't seen the movie- the novel Shutter Island is crazy good. I could NOT put it down.

I picked up the Hunger Games last night... I love the characters! I am already addicted lol. 4 hours to go until nap time and then it'll be just me and my book LOL.

Oh is Shutter Island super scary?

I finished the first book and am desperate for the second. Can't spend any more money on books so I am taking some in for trade lol I'm going totally crazy...must be YT's influence:p:rolleyes: ok maybe I was there before YT had an influence:p

Anyway I loved the first book!

I just gave the first two books to my nephew to read on his flight to California and back. He texted me from California to say he loves the first one...and he hasn't even gotten to the part about the games yet!! :)

I love to read and Iam constantly purchasing books. Places I find to be least expensive are BJ's and Costco. There is also a book club called New Books, Bestselling Fiction, Non*Fiction Books - BOMC2.com Book Club that has books for 9.95 with free shipping. When I get back to BJ's I will look for hunger games.

I got done reading Catching Fire a while back. I loved it and now can't wait for the third book to come out.

It's pretty sad, I have about 3 series of books that I now waiting for the last book to come out.

I just finished the second book... to be honest I wasn't that thrilled by it.

I loved the first, the second was a bit... well nothing new happens.
I guess second books in a trilogy are like this so... I'll wait for number three

Me too!

If you liked this you should read the Eargon series. The movie was awful but the books are great!

Thought it was about time to bump this one back up.

Anyone else excited about the release 3rd and final book, Mockingjay? I can't wait. I pre-ordered mine today! :D

In the meantime, just thought I'd mention the series I'm reading now and thoroughly enjoying. It's The Mortal Instruments series, by Classandra Clare. I'm still on the first one, The City of Bones, and will finish it up tonight. Very satisfied with the story so far--it's fast paced, doesn't leave you bored and keeps you guessing as to who 'the good guys' really are. (I have a feeling I'll never REALLY find out until the very end of the series. :rolleyes:

Also, anyone ever read The Maze Runner, but James Dashner? I've read some really good reviews about it and am thinking of adding it to my summer reading queue. :)

i've been following this thread since you first made it even though i wasn't posting on YT at the time. i took your suggestion and read the hunger games book 1 & 2 and now i'm waiting for book 3 to come out. They are really good. when is the release date for the 3rd?

Right now i'm reading a vampire series called the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J R Ward. They are so awesome! Its so hard to put them down and i find myself up till 1 or 2 in the morning still reading even though i have to get up for work at 6:30am. i highly recommend them if you like vamp books. This series is more "adult" like the sookie stackhouse series instead of "teen" like the twilight series.

Thanks for sharing what you are reading. I will have to look into that one. I like to see what other YTers with similar tastes are reading. I find that they rarely disappoint with their recommendations!

Yep, I pre- order a while back, when I ordered 1 and 2. I am super excited to get it.

Well, I went ahead and bought The Maze Runner last night, because I was at B&N and had a coupon that was about to expire, so I guess I'll be reading it in the near future. Still have two MI books to read (and they are a considerable length) witch will probably carry me into Mockingjay time. But I can't wait to see how that one turns out too.

Also, the guy at our B&N last night mentioned that there had been a lot of interest in the upcoming release of Mockingjay. So it may be something worth ordering in advance or making plans to get early on.
