EEEK! Laptop is apparently "toast" help!

omg!! SO i have to share what happened to me. I was borrowing my godsister's laptop, it's an HP and it's kid of old. Anyway it gets heated super fast so one day i was on it and it froze, i turned it off by holding the power button, then when i tried to turn it back on the screren was black!!! Now i am going to have to pay for it!! My bf's friend looked at it cause he is a computer genius and he said what's wrong with it, he said it's not my fault, that it is the HP, that that has happened to a lot of them cause of a chip that is inside of it, and how they were made. Anyway im sooo bummed out, i havent even told her yet.

Hi Amanda, I have both a PC and a Mac and honestly like them equally. I do use the Mac more but the PC is fine for things such as internet and email and storing pictures.

I saw your question about Dell, honestly I have had Dells for both personal and business and have never had any problems. Right now I have a Pink Netbook that I use for traveling and it works great.

You can get some great deals on Dells right now and another thought would be visit their Dell Outlet, usually they have a great selection of Laptops.

Thanks for the input on Dells! My girlfriend's boyfriend is a computer guy and had a brand new Dell Latitude with all sorts of expensive upgrades and programs he wanted to sell so I bought it! Can't wait, its really hard to Yorkie Talk on my Blackberry!

This is actually a really old myth. Macs have been compatible for years... Once you go Mac, you will never go back!!

They are actually quite comparable to PC's if you you look at the specs. But with Macs you get the peace of mind that it will not crash the day after you get it because of a virus... and they work right out of the box! No set-up.

My favorite thing about Mac's is that they are very sleek. I love how pages collapse down rather than just minimize. :P Stuff like that brings me the joy in life hahaha.

I'm very sorry about your laptop.

I had a laptop that I got for Christmas 2 or so years ago. My brother and I both got one. They were Dell. Mine exploded on the inside, we got it fixed, and a few months later it greeted me with the blue screen of death. It was my fault cause it jumped off the bed one too many times, but it still sucked.

My brother's just stopped charging.

Now my brother has one that he got for school that is a very fancy schmancy HP G60 with a probably 14" screen, built in web cam, etc. and I LOVE it. It's the one I'm saving for. I believe it runs about $600, but it is a GOOD computer. my cousin also has one. He beats it to DEATH and it still runs like the day he got it.
