Corset wearers?

I used to want to get one but i always wondered.since it makes ure waist tiny..where does all the 'fat' go?

I do wear a corset regularly when I wear my victorian gowns, you can't wear the clothes without the proper undergarments, I do victorian dancing and victorian re enactments. I also use to volunteer at a victorian museum and dress up twice a week. I have a few pictures if you are interested in seeing them.

Oh my gosh, I always thought Capt. Noonie was a man and now he wants to see pictures. hahaha No other reason other than her sense of humor and always called us 'ladies' but I guess a she could call us ladies.

When I saw the title of the thread and op, I thought, well this is going to be interesting

Well since fat is squishy, it just gets squished down. Like if you put your hands around your waist and squish inwards, but a corset is your entire waist. if you do ever get one, please get a good quality one. the cheap ones don't last and start to come apart at the seams, and you're not really saving that much money if it doesn't last that long. My first one i had custom made and it was about $300. Then I was cheap but wanted another one and ordered a cheapy one off ebay for $150, it hurts way more, and the seams are stretching out, and they didn't even really make it fit that well. i could have done better myself, but was just being lazy.

This is the company i got my custom one from. Looks like they've lowered some prices! They are in Anaheim, so I walked in, but most of their orders are online.

Oh just gorgeous!!! Can't wait for more pics! i wish we had some victorian museums over here. not too much history on the west coast, other than cowboy stuff LOL

I wore a corset the day I got married. Of course that was many many yrs. ago.

Corsets are very sexy and have their 'purpose'...LOL but, no, they are not healthy. They were the reason for smelling salts and fainting couches. Women's lungs and ability to breathe were being compromised. You're right all of that 'fat' has to go somewhere. Closest I get to 'corsetting' everything into place, is tucking the girls into my pantyhose. Of course for special occasions and slinky jersey type dresses, I use control top.
