Thank you for answering. I know I'm not crazy. Glad you finally got an answer to your finger issue. I really don't think it is arthritis. That's what the dr just wants to brush it off as. Arthritis is more of an ache kind of pain. I think I may have done it when I carry groceries out of the car I tend to just hang the bags on my fingers I think this one got hurt with too much weight on it. I really don't know. |

i have nerve pain and its hard to explain to the doctors, hope you get some relief soon. |
We know all about doctors who should have never graduated here. 5-6 years through the ER and specialists and still no answer for me, but they certainly knew where to send the bill. Finally, I went back to my old dr. from a long time ago and she has helped so much. And all that time one of the problems I was having could have made something I had already been diagnosed with even worse putting me in a dangerous situation. It does get irritating. I'm sorry you're in pain. :( |

Here's the crux of it and some of why this crap happens....when my sister was in Med School, they go through certain subjects for a stretch - then, they have "Black Monday" - where all the students have to take the tests about that body system - and the tests are extremely comprehensive and tough (as they should be). However, let's say only 10% of the students did well on the test - that looks veryyyyy bad for the school. It looks very bad if a majority of students had a C on these tests -- AND the school could lose funding if Med Schools consistently show poor grades/students. So, the professor changes the curve to BRING UP the entire testing results - making everyone look better. So maybe if someone got a D or whatever...um...they'd probably end up w/ a B, in the end. When in reality, they clearly do NOT know enough about that body system. THAT makes me FURIOUS. That's why there are folks out there who are doctors, but have NO business being one. :( For anyone who isn't rcvg good care from their doc, MOVE ON; good ones are out there. |
And we have the same situation with vets....and why people have to ask questions and do their own research weather it is for their pets or themselves. |

I get so tired of hearing people say "you should not be getting info from a forum". Oh really? Well I guess you haven't met the last 5 vets I've tried for my babies. If my dogs (or humans) need help, you can be darn sure I'll find any/all information I can arm my brain with. I am the advocate for my health, my hubby's health, and my pets' health. Whew, gettin' a little worked up over here! Health care does that to me! :p |

Ok so the idiot lady calls me from the dr's office about 15min ago. He couldn't even call. Anyway she tells me he said to take 600mg of ibuprofin a day for a month  and see how that does. Ok then he will be treating me (or not treating me) for a stomach ulser. Even if it is arthritis it doesn't take a month for the anti inflamitory to work. I could see if he said try that for about a week or so then see how it feels, but a month, he's nuts. I just may have to go to a hand orthopedic doctor. I told you this guy is just a pill pusher. idiot!!! |

What a MORON you have for a doctor. :( I\'m SO sorry. Some people have no business wearing the white coat!! In the meantime, I would probably just keep it buddy taped and immobilize it as much as possible. Hugs & prayers. I hope something works and your finger feels better very soon. |
Just a question if anyone knows..... If it were arthritis would the whole joint hurt. I mean I can squeeze it top to bottom it doesn\'t hurt, but if I squeeze it from the sides that\'s where I see stars. It\'s the middle joint and the top joint. hhhhmmmmmmm............... |
man you guys have know idea what i go through with doctors. For the last 8 years of my life i been in pain from endometriosis and before i was diagnosed i was sent doctor to doctor and test from test and nobody knew what was wrong with me. they even said i was lying to them about the pain i was in because they could not find anything wrong. i was a little girl 8 years ago why would i be lying and going through painful tests to find out what is causing the pain. it was horrible. being in the pain i was and not knowing what was wrong with me. my parents even felt i way lying to them because it took 4 years to be diagnosed. now i have to have a hysterectomy because my endometriosis is so bad. yea all in my head they even made me feel like i was crazy i thought maybe my brain is messed up and i make myself think i have pain it was bad. and now im trying to get answers to all my questions about having a hysterectomy at 25 and seems like every doctor has a different answer i hate doctors so much. but i have to deal with them to get better.wish my finger was just broken hope that makes you feel better. |
Are you saying I shouldn\'t complain because it\'s only a finger??? I am sorry for what you had to go through and I\'m glad you found out what was wrong |
