My furkids Donating Member | thinking about taking a course for vet assistant the college in the town I live in is offering on line courses,...I have been trying to get a job in a vets office...either cleaning cages or front desk. When I saw this course thouhgt,,,This is right up my alley!!! AND......it's an online course!! I would like to talk to someone that is a vet assistant..just to ask questions...I am 53 yrs old, got laid off last november and there just isn't anything out there that wants to pay...And at my age (even though I dont think of myself as old) it is going to be hard for me to find a job,,..so...if anyone out there can answer a few questions I would greatly appreciate it..I haven't signed up for the class yet...where it's an online course there isn't a deadline to sign up. thank you! Brenda

| There are a few vet assistant classes offered online and you will learn a lot. The thing I am finding is that some vet offices want you to do a receptionist/assistant dual role, so it can be important that you have customer service experience. The ones offered by ed2go (I, II and III) are very good (I enjoyed them) and the one from Gatlin looks like a good one.
