It's actually not so fun. I've been working with elementary aged kids for a while and that was fun/easy in my mind. So now with the middle schoolers, I was expecting a bit more lip and attitude from them, but I didn't expect them to be such downers. It's only the third day, maybe things will turn around once I get to know them and they get to know me.

Oh shoot, I answered to late. Glad you're going home, give Layla extra cuddles for being so patient!!!

I got a solid 4 hours of sleep last night

When I got home I woke Layla up and she was ready to play! She hadn't eaten all day because she never eats when she's alone

I put her outside to pee (because she hadn't used her pad either the whole time I was at work) and she just cried to be inside with me. It broke my heart! I cuddled with her tons before going to sleep. This morning she looked so sad when I was leaving again. I am going to refuse to work late tonight!

The whole project is due first thing in the morning.
Anyone want to keep me company while I work tonight? I've just started hour 13 and I'm starting to lose it!

The project manager, another new engineer who is helping out, and my boss are all still here. All still pushing for me to get stuff done

I know this is after the fact, but yes it did. They finally placed me with my permanent group of kids and they're 6th graders! The easiest of the bunch!! Not to much know it all attitude from those guys.
I hope the project is finally done so you could spend your afternoons with Layla!!

I'm glad things worked out for you!
I left work at 3:30 am when my part of the report was done... and boy was my boss kissing butt! Couldn't stop talking about how I did a wonderful job and it was a beautiful report... although I think he knew I would snap if he said anything different.
I fell asleep at 4am and slept until noon, and then came back in to work for the afternoon. Luckily, no staying late tonight!
In 2 days, I worked a total of 32.5 hours

I am so looking forward to spending my evening with Layla tonight!
