I know now we were stupid to try it. It was such a FAR drive and we paid $140 to rent the tubes and there were other people there in the river doing it and making it look so easy and fun! We thought tying ourselves together would help but I think that hurt us, we got tangled in the trees when we probably would not have if we went down in 2s.

I pray they find the girl safe.

I think they said the Deerfield River.

Yup, that is the exact river and place we were. Actually when we left, we saw the rescue truck carrying the boats come up the road followed by an ambulance. They were heading towards the river. How scary! Poor girl... I hope they find her safe!

This incident has been haunting me since Monday. I think I am suffering post traumatic stress. I didn't sleep monday night at all. I stayed home sick tuesday from work to try to relax and sleep but its been on my mind, how scared I was. How quickly it can happen and how helpless you truly are when the current is that strong.

Today they found a body in the river. They have not released the identity at this point. An 18 year old girl went missing in the river on saturday. Same time we were on it, actually my girlfriend called me today to tell me that the group with that girl was at the gas station renting tubes when we were there on saturday.

I am soooo thankful we all made it out alive and unhurt, I need to stop thinking about the what ifs... its driving me CRAZY!

Oh Christina I can't imagine how shook up you were and still are!! How traumatic for you...if you were here I would give you a great big hug!!!!

My mom almost drowned tubing a long time ago. I can't IMAGINE how scary it must be. I'm SO glad that everyone is OK!!!

Yikes, VERY scary! I am so glad to hear that you and everyone else made it out okay and are safe. I don't think I'd ever go near water again after something like that.
