| Anyone going to ComicCon? Or am I the only nerd here? I am going on Saturday the 25th. Initially I was going to dress up (Corpse Bride) but we didn't book a hotel room, and I really didn't want to drive 2 hours down to San Diego with my face all blue and not be able to wear sunglasses, which would ruin my makeup. If anyone will be there, I'd love to meet you guys in person!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Boy would my oldest son love you, he loves going to those things and loves everything about Tim Burton. I believe he went last year and sent me some pictures of the Princess Leia who was on American Idol. His wife doesn't share his enthusiasm, but she does allow him to go occasionally, and lets him go hog wild at Halloween with his Nightmare before Christmas theme. I'm proud of the nerd I helped raise!

| Yup Ghostbusters, and also GI Joe. It's kinda funny, all these movies coming out to remind me of my childhood. I'll take lots of pics, and I'll be sure to post some of the good ones here. Still don't know what I'm gonna wear though! Not in costume anymore, but still wanna look cute, but have to be comfy, since we're gonna be walking around allllll daaaaaayy.

| I used to go to conventions in Chicago when I was younger. They were tons of fun, and I loved dressing up. I used to LARP, lol! One thing I haven't missed every year is the Renaissance Faire. Me and my husband love dressing up for that. Well, I'm missing this year. I'm too pregnant for that long trip and all day walking. Have fun at ComicCon!

| Yes I love dressing up and i love costumes. But we went to the ren faire this past may and did NOT have fun! So what we were not "period correct"? i know that renaissance is supposed to be 15th century, I don't care. I like 18th century better! So what? Geez you would be surprised at the comments we got! "Faire idiots" they said, and one guy made fun of bf b/c he have on some stuff that jingled. Oh, but nooooo one said anything about the guy dressed up like Jack Sparrow huh? And why did they have a Blackbeard character, when that's not renaissance either? Ok so apparently I'm still really mad. I guess it just really annoyed me that they were being so period picky, when they were wearing cheaply constucted costumes and we had on real antique clothing from the 18th century (we collect antique clothing). They really made us feel unwelcome. Like just b/c we are asian we can't dress up and just have to look like tourists with our cameras out all the time??? Ok I need to get over myself now. LOL I vented, now I feel better.

| That's why I got so upset. Most of the comments were from the employees or vendors that were working there.

| It sounds like fun! My son works at a comic book store and he loves it so much. The owners of the shop are at the convention. He is at the store earning money instead!! You sound like a fun person. Not a nerd! Are you the person that has a shop in OC? |

I missed A LOT of people I wanted to see. Pretty much all I saw was Family guy and Cleaveland show. I missed Kevin Smith, Venture Bros and Mythbusters. I did see the masquerade though. Some good entrants, I will post vids soon.

| Some pics from Comic Con There weren't as many people in costume as I had imagined. Most of the attendees in costume, they were mediocre at best. I was disappointed, I thought the super fanboys and girls would have put my stuff to shame, sadly no. I guess that's good for me though! Lots of costumes were made of craft felt, cardboard, etc, yuk! Anyway, here's a few pics of the stuff I thought was great! The predators were molded rubber and silicone, great job they did! Spongebob and Patrick were made by Nickelodeon that's why they looked so good, not fanmade. Anyway, loved them.

We were outside in the Gaslamp Dist taking a break, and getting something to eat. He really wears cop aviators in real life LOL. Right before I took this pic he said "I just Purell-ed my hands." LOL You know the hand sanitizer? He had just shaken someone else's hand. he was nice enough to make a jokey pose with me too. Yes his voice is really like that.
