Yes I love dressing up and i love costumes. But we went to the ren faire this past may and did NOT have fun! So what we were not "period correct"? i know that renaissance is supposed to be 15th century, I don't care. I like 18th century better! So what?
Geez you would be surprised at the comments we got! "Faire idiots" they said, and one guy made fun of bf b/c he have on some stuff that jingled. Oh, but nooooo one said anything about the guy dressed up like Jack Sparrow huh? And why did they have a Blackbeard character, when that's not renaissance either? Ok so apparently I'm still really mad.
I guess it just really annoyed me that they were being so period picky, when they were wearing cheaply constucted costumes and we had on real antique clothing from the 18th century (we collect antique clothing). They really made us feel unwelcome. Like just b/c we are asian we can't dress up and just have to look like tourists with our cameras out all the time??? Ok I need to get over myself now. LOL I vented, now I feel better.
