| I am sooo Distressed right now.. What to do? I got a call tonight from the trainer that I hired to work with Kikki Mei. She has been working with her for almost 2 months now. Well, she called me tonight an said that Kikki killed her little Yorkie Suzy.. Suzy was 9 years old an a little one. Kikki got out of the crate an attacked her. You all know I have been having some problems with Kikki. Alot of food aggression an attacking Libby my Maltese. I finally decided to hire a trainer an behavior specialist. She was doing good an then this! The trainer lives just 15 miles from me so Kikki stayed there alot for her training. The trainer said she had a really bad Aggression problem an needed to learn the authority that she wasn't the pack leader. She had bit me twice and a friend that visited me two weeks ago. She gets all excited when someone comes an has to be the one with all the attention. I had to put her in the crate if anyone came to the house. I just don't know what to do.. The trainer said she is willing to work with her more intensely an try to get her to be nicer.. I just feel awful about her little girl Suzy. I can't stop crying an just don't know what to do. I called the breeder an she still denies that its any problem at her end. She said its the enviroment that she was brought up in an she never had any problems with the dam or the other siblings of Kikki.. so Any suggestions? still crying here an stressed.. this is all I need.. I have had sooo many health problems an trying to avoid the stress..but now.. I can't avoid it. Please Pray for me an Kikki an The trainer to be able to train Kikki an get her to be an nice little Girl. Thanks for hearing me out..

| Can you return this dog to the breeder? This sounds like a highly aggressive dog. To fight and bite is one level of aggression, to kill is really something that may not be curable. You may be able to manage it but I would never trust this dog with another one. |

| Brenda, my heart is breaking for you. I missed the other thread where you talked about Kiki's aggression. What breed of dog is she? I am also very sorry for the breeder and her loss -- I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know if I would ever trust her around another dog. I have two females that fight and are kept separated 24/7. They have come to terms and at least they don't fight through the baby gate any longer. BUT if I bring one of the girls into the other girl's territory, they both get ready to fight. Good luck to you! |

| She is a yorkie.. I got her from a breeder that used to be on YT. I have called and talked to her tonight again... She still says its the enviroment she is brought up in. She doesn't have any problems with her dogs or any complaints of Kikki's Siblings. I got her from her when she was 5 mths old.. she is 16 mths old now. I am just so worried and don't know what to do.. The trainer wants to keep trying with her.. I just don't know if I want to trust Kikki around any other dogs now. I am too scared. This is Pictures of Kikki , she looks so sweet an innocent.. really she has times when she is sooo snuggly and sweet.. but when it comes to food and being around other female dogs she gets so aggressive.

| Brenda, I don't see that you have much choice. You need to leave her with the trainer and see if she can be "reformed". I am sorry you are so stressed out about this. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | How tragic. I can imagine how bad you feel. I would be so afraid to have her around my other dogs. Maybe if the trainer can't help her it would be the safest thing to rehome to a single dog home. That would be so hard but you can't put your others in peril.

| Oh Brenda, I am soo sorry to hear this, you must feel just awful. I am surprised the trainer wants to keep working with her after that happened, but I am glad, sounds like little Kikki needs a great deal of training. Aggression in a tiny dog is sometimes just overlooked due to the fact that they can't really 'hurt' ... but thats not true. I am glad you are doing what needs to be done by taking her for training. I wish I had more ideas to help you, but really I think you are doing the right thing keeping her there. I highly doubt that this is your fault, this is hardwired in her and needs to be broken. In some of her pics, her eyes are sooo sweet but in one of them she looks ANGRY. She has beautiful expressive eyes! Patience and repetition will most likely get the job done, but may take awhile. Keep her away from your maltese until she is doing better though. (((HUGS)))

| Thanks so much everyone for your post... I am still so worried. I love Kikki but have to do something. The trainer is willing to keep working with her. Kikki was starting to respond to the Clicker Training. BTW-- Kikki is a bigger baby. She weighs 8 pds, she killed a little yorkie that was only 3-4 pounds.. She was an older yorkie also. The trainer is telling me it's not my fault.. she should have made sure the crate was shut and closed right before she left. She said Kikki was showing alot of aggression since the begining of training 2 monts ago an she knew it and she takes all the blame for the death of her Suzy. I still feel so bad. I talked with her today and she is willing to Keep Kikki for a forever home. She said Kikki has her sweet moments of loving an playing etc... and she can still see that she can help her with consistent training. She is having a animal behaviorist to come too. She believes in trying to change them instead of giving up. She lost her little girl an wants to keep Kikki. I am letting her have her to keep so she can work with her an make her a good girl. I still can go visit anytime. So Kikki has a new forever home. The trainer has a wonderful home with just one dog now.. It is an Sheltie an Kikki gets along fine with her. So Kathy (Trainer) Has a new baby. I had to do something.. I don't want her to come back here an hurt My maltese Libby. Max my yorkie an Bobo are very smalll but they stayed away from her. Kikki tried to be the leader of the pack an no matter what I did or tried she was aggressive.. She bit me twice when I tried to get Her an Libby apart. Libby is 6 years old an never had a mean bone in her.. Always so sweet. So I think I made a good decision in letting her have Kikki an work with her an keep her forever. I am just out of what I spent getting Kikki an training. But at least my mind is at ease a little an she has a good home. She lives in the country an has lots of room to run and a fence in yard. So I don't have to worry about that. So everyone thanks so much for the kind words..

| Brenda, I agree that the best solution is to let the trainer keep her. I am sorry you had to go through this, but IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT! In fact, I doubt there are many people who would have sought out a professional trainer at all! You have made the responsible decision. It is the right decison for Kikki also. Dogs like to know their standing in the pack. Clearly, Kikki is confused. She will be much happier when she understands that she is not the leader. |

| As hard as it is I think it is the best decision. I think you would have been to fearful to see her come home with the others. I am so sorry you have to make such a decision like this. hugs to you!
