| Help, I'm a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding. I'm actually one of the MOH's she's having two. She's getting married in September so the wedding isn't very far away. I have never, never been comfortable wearing a dress and am very self self-conscious of my body. I am very, very shy. I'm starting to freak a little bit. I was MOH at my sister's wedding two years ago and wore a dress then as well and well I managed to make it through that thankfully. I was shaking like a leaf I swear you would have thought it were me getting married. My friend was very good with all her bridesmaids and let us make the decision on what kind of dress style we wanted to wear and such. I chose the one that I'd be more comfortable in, it goes down to mid calf, and I got to get a little jacket with it. It may not sound like it, but it is very nice, you'd have to see it. I have scarring on my back which is why I chose the jacket and everyone's been very understanding thus far. I'm still just freaked out and my question is does anyone know where I can find some of the double sided body tape? I wanna make sure that my dress stays up where it should. And what would be the best under things to wear under the dress. Strapless bra, etc. Anyone have spanx, ever wore spanx? I wish I were more comfortable like the rest of the girls in the bridal party, but I'm not and I'm just hoping I can relax and make it through the wedding. We've been informed to stay in our dresses the whole night, and I am just all urgh. LOL! I should just relax right. Well, enough of my craziness, I need to sleep I'm sick and I need to rest, but I just got thinking about the dress and the wedding fast approaching and got a bit worked up. |

| Weddings are difficult for me also. I don't like standing in front of people. You'll get through it though. David's Bridal carries double sided tape but you can probably get it at most any dress shop.

| Your are going to be just fine. If this helps think of it this way; everyones eyes are going to be on the bride, so you are going to be the green leaf of the flower. Pretty and necessary, but the flower is the main attention. That thought always helps me through those bridesmaid horrors. Hang in there! |

| Just drink a lot if you have to stay in the dress you will relax.....JUST KIDDING. I know its hard to feel uncomfortable.....just know you are a very important part of your best friends special day. I was only in one wedding and decided NEVER again.......in fact, my best friend is the only person I would do it for on this earth. We didn't get to pick anything, we all had to look alike. Good Luck, Angie |

| The BEST thing to wear under the dress is one of these! They sell them in stores - go get measured to make sure you get the right size so you can still breathe. I wore mine for my wedding and as a bridesmaid and it sucks you in, smooths you out, AND makes you stand up straight! Since it has a layer of padding, it makes everything look toned and not just squished like the spanx style ones Spanx bottoms are an option but I bought according tot he size chart and I couldn't even put them on. So go a size up or get a shaper that is not so constricting. I think control-top pantyhose are sufficient and they even have the shorts kind now. Treat yourself to a mani/pedi and get your hair and makeup done so you don't feel self conscious. They will be taking so many pictures you want the professional look. I'm not a spa person, in fact I haven't had a mani/pedi since I was a bridesmaid, but I would do it again for an event like that. You can get the double stick tape at bridal shops but recently I've seen it at Target and Kohls in the underwear depts! We used it to hold up our strapless dresses for 12 hours of wedding festivities |

| Awww, you're going to be stunning!!!! I do agree with Erin and go for the whole spa day- get a mani/pedi the day before and get your hair and make-up professionally done the day of the wedding. You will be beautiful and I hope you have a great time!

| Thanks everyone!! Thanks for the link for the shaper as well. I think I will take everyone's advice and do a spa day. I know I'll get through it. She is my best friend and I am doing it for her. I'm happy she included me to be a part of her special day all eyes will be on her . I just get a little freaked out. lol. I go for the another fitting in July, the dresses are all being made so it will fit how it should. I think I'll feel better after the fitting after trying it on and seeing how it's going to all come together. All I have to worry about now really is finding the perfect shoes. |
