I've just emailed her to ask where she went to school. She's telling me how they pay for all her start up advertising and everything. I'm trying to find her a building. I told her she can do the training and I'll run the facility. Working for myself has always been a dream for me! I've also asked if you can email her direct. If so, I'll send her email via PM. Otherwise, I'll answer here. Watch this space..... |

If school isn't for you, you don't need a degree to get a job. |

The college is online. It's called ABC Behavioral College in California. She asked that after checking it out if you are serious to please use her name as a reference since she is a 2008 Graduate. If you choose that route, just PM me and I'll give you her name. Hope that helps. As for the college degree.....you have to go with what feels right for you. Money ISN'T everything. I truly believe you have to be happy doing what you do. Money doesn't make a job any more pleasant, especially if you hate going to it everyday. Good luck to you! |
I'm a Barber-Stylist is my correct title.... I own my own shop, but it's located right by my house and it's set in the country. Real relaxed setting and great hours. I love being my own boss.:D |
Physical Therapy Tech...currently in Nursing school....Yeah me!!!! |
Right now, I'm finishing up in school. After I finish, I wanna take classes to be a vet tech and go to police accademy. I can't decide if I want to be a vet tech or a cop (*cough*detective) but, I figure, after taking both classes, I can decide from there. And if I get sick of one, at least I have something else to fall back on. :) |
I'm a School Nurse, which I love and have been doing for the last 18 years..... |

I so love my life!!!! |
Hi there, I really felt I needed to respond to your question. I am 29 yrs old, and have degrees in fashion design and graphic design. BUT I am currently not working in the field that I am trained in. I own a boutique with my bf. I have worked in "my field" and it turned out to be a total downer! (I have worked with major junior labels in CA) I think you need to find out what makes you happy and try to make a career out of that. Currently, costumes makes me happy, and i am trying to find my foot in the door into costuming. Times are tough right now; everyone needs a job, and everyone needs to be even more creative to get one. Start with what you love first, then go from there. Follow your heart, not the hole in your (or our collective) wallet. |
25 years as a weather guesser. Great job. Where else can you be wrong and still get paid.:D |
I work for Texas Instruments. Pay is decent and the best part is that I work a compressed shift. 3 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on and 4 days off. I don't really enjoy what I do, but the money is good and I love the people I work with. Not to mention all the time off. :D |
College, Yes or No I am 47 and in advertising sales. I do well for having no college degree. But.....I wish I had it. Both our kids are in college. And this is what I tell them: You will want to Enjoy your work, but be as educated as you can. I know you may not need that degree to do the job you enjoy, but knowledge is power. (I know old saying) The people you meet, the network of friends and profs are all just as valuable as the education. Soak it all in. Learn it all. Do it while your young! I know the 4 year plan can be hard if you are accumulating loans and have the worry of whether you will have any job at all to pay them off. I am sorry we do not make quality education available (affordable) to every young person. Education is an investment in all of our futures. We personally are going into huge debt for our kids college educations. So.. Do people TRUELY regret going to college???????? Even if your not doing the job your degree is for? TRUELY, you would say, "I wish I didn't have this BA Degree."? I certainly regret not going and it is hard to go back. I don't think a good education is ever a waste no matter what you decide to do for your job. Expensive perhaps, but not a waste! Maybe something you appreciate more as you get older. :) |
