Well let's see!!! My fiance owns an Estate Agency and in november last year we brought a hotel... Usually I am a stay at home mommy to 3 furbabies and 1 and a half year skin baby but due to the Economy beeing the way it is we had to let one of the staff at the hotel go, so I am doing the bar shift on sundays and from 1st June I will do mondays, wednesdays and fridays as well because we have just opened up a coffee shop as well in the hotel lobby so very busy at the moment... Plus I am a mystery shopper too and I do about 3 to 4 mystery shops every week. LOL...WHAT A LIFE!!! |

Well, I went to dog grooming school when I was 18. I worked for someone, they closed down & moved. I opened my own dog grooming buisness. I got married. He didn't want me to work, so I was a stay at home mom & raised a family. I still groomed my own dogs & showed my dogs. I got divorced. Then I baby sat for a while, went to school to become a secetary in a law firm. I didn't like it. Three years ago I opened my own dog grooming buisness & boarding. I still show my dogs for a hobby. I am happy once again.Yippee!!! Crazy ha went back to what I loved in the first place. |
My hubby owns a vehicle repair workshop so I do all the paper work, banking, wages etc and I also have my own business as a dressmaker so we keep pretty busy, but at least my baby is at work with me, and being my own boss we get to go for walks when the weather permits. |
I have a BS in Medical technology and work as a Medical Technologist in a hospital. A lot of people do not know what a Med tech is....well we run tests on patient specimens. I personally work in the blood bank and ensure safe tranfusions for patients who need them. The lab is the unsung hero of the hospital. 70% of the information that a doctor needs to make a diagnosis comes from the laboratory. I love what I do;) |
we have several business.. Commercial Embroidery Candy Wrapping for special occasions My Hubby is a DJ and does licensed character custom cd's for kids with their names in the music..like with Mickey etc. And I sell Mary Kay |
I am a legal secretary and hate it! Great $$$ just not my thing. |
I am an attorney. My feelings about it are mixed. I practice primarily in the area of civil defense primarily representing a wide variety of clients in professional liability matters (attorneys, doctors, nurses, chiropractors, vets, real estate agents, etc). It is challenging and sometimes exciting. However, I think I would rather represent plaintiffs, work at a smaller law firm and take a weekend off from time to time. |
I took Civil Engineering Technology in college. I have been working for just over two years and I'm now the head of the drafting department for my office. Not bad for being under 25 years old, and the pay is great! BUT I don't really enjoy it. I'm good at it, but I don't like coming to work every day because I don't feel like I'm making a difference in the world. I just get no personal satisfaction. My dream is to work with animals. For now, this job pays the bills, but it's not what I want to do forever. |
i work in healthcare and i am a senior analyst. which basically means i am a big nerd who plays with numbers, microsoft excel and powerpoint 90% of my day :D i LOVE my job, i have many good friends there and it pays really well but my company is horrible. as soon as the economy picks up, i think i will look for a new company. :) |
My Husband an I Own our own Business.. Were both Cpa's. He has been one for 40 years... Me 15 years. I was CNA before I moved here.. was going for RN ... but my legs and back gave out. LOOONG story..I was a Country singer also. I sang Backup for Loretta Lynn for years. I still sing at the County fairs here in Michigan an wherever they want me. lol So I had to find something else to do. So I met my Husband and started to work for him.. He taught me everything I know. Now I am Disabled.. I do a little of the accounting at home. So don't do much anymore. :( |
sit set on my big butt ha use to be a groomer |
I'm an Office Manager of an Elementary School....Glorified Babysitter and Nurse to the students, Secretary to the Principal and Teachers, PR for the parents and the community. It's a very stressful job at times, but I love it....I have been at my school for 20 years, started when my kids were there in kindergarten. |
I am a nanny! I thought it would just be a temporary gig, but five years later I'm still doing it! It's great money and my schedule rocks. The good thing about my career is that I can work just about anywhere. The bad thing is if I want to make a good salary, I need to work in a big city and I'm getting burnt out of this big (fake) city. I miss the 'burbs! |
I'm a licensed cosmetologist but now stay home and take care of my grandkids part time, as well as enjoy the time I now spend with my fur baby, Bella and two Tiels. |
I'm a professional poker player. I personally have been in your position many times Brit. I was studying pre-law during college when I discovered poker. As I started getting better at poker and making money, my grades fell to rock bottom and I was placed on academic dismissal. I have never had a full time job, so my only earnings have been gambling wins and paid gigs from sponsors or televised opportunities. Although poker has brought me lots of adventure, living life on a roller coaster is rough. My boyfriend is the founder/CEO of a few companies here in San Francisco and because I have a lot of time on my hands, I help him organize his life, make sure things are running smoothly in the house and take care of all the finances (funny - he puts a gambler in charge of the finances!) I find it more gratifying to take care of the people I love rather than be consumed by poker. At some point, I'd like to take classes, volunteer somewhere or even find a part-time job. But, in the meanwhile I just stay home, take care of my babies (my boyfriend and Kaia) and play poker. |
I work as a medical transcriptionist. I love it!!! I started out going to school to be an accountant, and during my second year I got married, and realized that I wanted to have kids and would never be able to leave them alone. So I went to school and became a medical transcriptionist. I started out working at a local hospital, and now I work from home for a national company. The pay is good and since I telecommute, I don't have to worry about the job market in my small town (which kinda stinks--even before the big economy down turn). I live in Tennessee and work for a company out of Chicago, working on hospital accouts in Hollywood, Corpus Christi and the Atlanta area. So I am not limited by my geographic area. There is also the plus side of working in my pjs :p:D |

pharmacy tech now...going to school to *hopefully* become a doctor (ob-gyn)! I would have loved to be a vet, but the school loans are too expensive for a vet's paycheck :( |
I'm am a recently graduaded RN and I will be start work in the MICU in July. |
I'm a paralegal and have been one for 5 years. I love my job on most days as I work for a plaintiff's firm and handle many personal injury claims but there are days when I dread the work. I'm also working on my Master's Degree in Political Science and History to hopefully teach and get my Ph.D. |
I work in the Marketing dept. of an Insurance Broker's office. We're the middle man. I use to love it, but now it's just a job I applied for, not a job I picked. I also sell AVON on the side.... LOVE DOING THAT! :) |

I did the Rad Tech school thing too. Started at my Comm College in town but wanted to finish sooner. I transfered to a local hospital program and HATED it! Not to mention the schooling was about 12,000K/year. For 25K I was not going to do a job I didn't like. I'm still in Corp. America in Administration. I work for a great company based out of the UK. They have a European approach to business and their employees which is TOTALLY different than US companies. They actually APPRECIATE their employees and reward good work. |

I guess my only dilemma here right now is to get the college degree or not to get the college degree.... school is so blah for me. I'm so just not into it. I get mixed reviews about having a bachelors. Some people say you HAVE to have it in order to make money in today's world, some people have their degree and STILL can't get a job in today's world. So, it's... who knows. I guess if I really wanted to, I could major in Business to learn how to run my own business but even my own step-father, who has a degree in Business, said he was never really taught much in college on how to run his own business, he taught himself. And he's still paying off college loans. My dad owns his own successful company that his grandfather started and he does very well for himself with no college degree. |
