| XM or Sirius Radio? After having XM radio for over a year, I just got Sirius. Looking for opinions. Which do you like best, and what are your favorite stations? Anyone?

| My bf has Sirus. I usually listen to Sirius Hits One or the popular country station. My bf will occasionally listen to the comedy station. I've never had a problem with getting reception, or it cutting out and he's had it for almost a year. He wanted Sirius over XM because Howard Stern is going there this year. I like that there aren't commercials- well worth the money, if you ask me! |

| I actually have both myself. I started off with XM and it was nice. I am an 80's fanatic so I stuck with channel 8 and Fred I think it was 54. I also listened to ch. 202 which is an adult talk show with Opie & Anthony. It's the only thing my hubby & I can agree on. But I was introduced to Sirius through Dish Satellite and LOVED it. So I got Sirius too. I love channel 22. Richard Blade, a DJ from KROQ here in LA back in the 80's has a show M-F, 7a-12p, pst and I am addicted to it. If I leave the house, I can listen to it in the car now. I also listen to ch. 01 sometimes. My unit has a memory that alerts me when one of my favorite 10 songs comes on. That's cool. So now my dashboard looks like Mission Control.

| If I liked Fred and Ethel and Lucy on XM, what channels would you suggest on Sirius? I also liked World Zone on XM, and it looks like the world music channel on Sirius is running an all Rolling Stones promotion or something... The only talk radio I listen to is the adult comedy, hee hee he so I think they both are okay in that aspect. So far I think my favorite on Sirius is Chill, but then again I haven't explored much yet. Anyone else have favorites???

| If you like alternative 80's than ch. 22 is the best. Lots of Dep. Mode, B-52's, Elvis Costello, etc.

| The best bet would be try to go to a store, and go through all the channels on both XM and Sirius and see which one has more appealing stations if you are trying to pick from one of them. I'm actually more of a XM fan (due to it having better dance stations), but I actually only have Sirius (and only in my car, cuz it came with Sirius, but it needs to be fixed, as the antenna isn't working properly).. So I like 62, 63, 64, 66, and 68 on Sirius. By the way, if you don't know, you can listen to any Sirius channel on any PC well if you have a Sirius subscription. Just go to www.Sirius.com and login with the login and username you chose. |

We got my stepdad one of them so he could listen to Stern. I don't have much experience with either and honestly, I didn't know there was a diffference.

| Get Sirius. Did anyone buy Sirius stock last year? Now you know why I want you to buy Sirius. |

You can't imagine me sitting on my lazy ass listening to an dance station? Here's a local Seattle high school radio station that broadcasts FREE worldwide... It's pretty darn good if I say so myself (I listen to it a lot), plays a lot of stuff I like, though like any radio station, they tend to repeat things a lot... http://www.c895worldwide.com Last edited by fasteddie; 09-09-2005 at 12:51 AM. | |

Fasteddie - my main complaint is the reception. Even when I go under a tree it goes into "linking" mode. (I'm metro NYC - I should have good reception.) Could it be the antenna? I drive a convertible, so the antenna is one of those electronic ones on the dash...
